A new year for everyone renewed with new hopes that the world would at last cure itself of the disease. This of course brings new opportunities for youngsters to grow and breakthrough to the top leagues. To be honest, every one of us knows about Pedri, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Martinelli, Mason Greenwood etc, but certain youngsters are constantly flying under the radar and are ready to explode into the main scene this year.
We will be showcasing 5 of the youngsters here, so you can keep a lookout for them and maybe let us know by the end of the year about their performance. They are:
Mohamed Simakan:
He is only 20 years old and plies his trade at RC Strasbourg who plays in the Ligue 1. He plays as a Centre Back. As it is being said that he is another jewel coming out of France and as an elite young talent he is the latest player to come off the defensive conveyor belt.
Moises Caicedo:
He is only 19 years old and plies his trade at Independiente del Valle who play in the top league of Ecuador. He plays as a Central Midfielder and has recently shot to prominence among fans, following transfer links to Manchester United, but those with an interest in South American football already knew about Moisés Caicedo. He has already played in the Copa Libertadores and scored twice. He is very energetic, physical and matches tough-tackling with impressive vision. Signing him for the rumoured £5m transfer fee would be a bargain as to what he can become.
Michael Olise:
He is only 19 years old and plies his trade at Reading FC who play in the Championship. He plays as an Attacking Midfielder. So, what do you think is common between James Maddison, Jack Grealish and Eberechi Eze? All of them are creative midfielders who thrived in the Championship. Even Olise is not too far. The playmaker can drive from midfield, has a gorgeous left foot and still contributes defensively. A catalogue for a 19-year-old.
Kamaldeen Sulemana:
He is only 18 years old and plies his trade at FC Nordsjaelland who play in the Danish Superliga. He plays as a Left Winger. Not a name that many people would know, but he is doing good and impressing at Nordsjaelland after graduating from the ‘Right to Dream’ academy in Ghana. He is capable of playing on the Right as well as behind the striker as well.
Ander Barrenetxea:
He is only 19 years old and plies his trade at Real Sociedad who play in the La Liga. He plays as a Left Winger as well. Ander Barrenetxea has impressed for Real Sociedad this season despite their from falling off a cliff. The winger is direct, deceptively quick and always looks to take players on and he is also being considered for a spot in the National Team for the EURO 2021.
