Manchester City begins their title defence of the Premier League for the fourth straight season having lifted the trophy eight times in total. The 2023/24 season was decided on the final day as Pep Guardiola’s side outwitted Arsenal for back-to-back years. The side will continue to fight for more honours in the upcoming campaign which will be their 22nd season in the Premier League and the 16th under the current ownership. City gets off to a cracking start to the 2024/25 premier league season with Chelsea their opponent on 18 August 2024.
The following month will bring a stiff challenge with title rivals Arsenal to face at home before making the trip to Newcastle. The next set of consecutive spectacular fixtures comes in November with Tottenham at home and Liverpool in Anfield. The first Manchester derby of the season is in the last month of the year at Etihad Stadium. The most crunching period for City will come in February 2025 after tackling Chelsea in the reverse fixture at the end of January 2025.
Guardiola’s men will face Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool and Tottenham in the fourth straight match with the Champions League knockout phase also happening in between. City’s faith will be decided in these games as they face only one top-six contender, rivals Manchester United, after that in the remaining months. The team hopes to hold the trophy again at the end of the season’s final day against Fulham on May 25, 2025.
