Arsenal once again missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City but managed to drag the title race to the final day of last season. The Gunners finished just two points away from the top spot despite collecting the same number of wins as the champions. However, losing two extra games cost them having drawn two fewer games than Pep Guardiola’s side. Manager Mikel Arteta will at least be pleased about the progress Arsenal has made under his management and hopes to build a stronger team that can finally claim what they desire.
The three-time Premier League winners face Wolves in the opening weekend of the 2024/25 Premier League season. Aston Villa and Brighton are two tricky fixtures to manage, however, the real challenge begins in September with the North London derby and early title decider against Manchester City to face in back-to-back fixtures on the trip. Arsenal also face Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea in simultaneous games towards November making their start to the season a tough one.
The first fixture against Manchester United falls in early December with the Gunners starting the New Year against Brighton away before facing Tottenham and Aston Villa in reverse fixtures consecutively. The Red Devils and Chelsea will be their opponents in March with Arsenal facing a crunching schedule overall in the 2024/25 season. Even in the final month, successive matches with Liverpool at Anfield and Newcastle back at home will be a hurdle before concluding the campaign on 25 May 2025 with a trip to St Mary’s.
