The 2020/21 season is going down to be one of the interesting campaigns of football history. Many known dominating sides of Europe's top five leagues are falling off allowing some new incredible team to seize their throne.
Injuries, fixture congestion and inconsistency have prevailed to a greater degree due to the pandemic situation. This has caused a more equal stretch of football among teams around the globe. We are hence witnessing something extraordinarily good this season. Let's reduce to a summary about the chances the current table-toppers hold to win the honors in their respective leagues.
5. Manchester City
Manchester City have rekindled their dominance in the league standing in a season that didn't look like unfolding from the start. Some sensible recruit with a tactical masterclass from ever shining Pep Guardiola has turned things around. City have acquired 74 points and merely 11 points away from lifting a third Premier League title in four seasons. A rare defeat to Leeds at the weekend added by United winning against Spurs have cut off their 14 points lead to 11. But that doesn't mean anything because City could grab the title much earlier provided that their rivals in the second position don't win their rest of the fixtures. City can wrap up the title victory on May 13 with a win over Newcastle provided they overcome the huddle of Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Chelsea earlier.

4. Inter
Antonio Conte's men have a similar sort of tale like City. Getting knocked out of the Champions League and vulnerability in their state of play didn't went well. But then a chain of impressive runs starting from the turnover of the year and an impressive 3-0 victory over rivals and title challengers AC Milan has made them the prime bagger of the Scudetto this season. Juventus's transition campaign has helped a lot but Inter's ruthlessness is the key to help them land a silverware in over a decade and snatch Old Lady's dominance. Their point difference on the top of the table is same as City but with less game played. If Inter carry on their unbeaten run and Milan don't stumble in the way, the Nerazzuri have to wait till the final day (May 23rd) to fulfill their desire.
3. Bayern Munich
Bayern are once again leading the Bundesliga but things can change fast if RB Leipzig show courage to ponder an upset. The Bavarians are five points clear off the side from East Germany with a tough round of fixtures ahead. Bayern plays Wolfsburg in the coming weekend followed by Leverkusen with Gladbach and Freiburg still to play. Contrary to Leipzig, they have Dortmund and Wolfsburg to worry about next month. It will be extremely difficult though for Leipzig to overturn Bayern's dominance as once Lewandowski returns from injury he will spearhead them to another title.
A win over Freiburg on May 15 will allow Bayern to lift their ninth consecutive title if Leipzig don't push the brakes early or themselves.
2. Atlético Madrid
It was almost set for Atletico to win this season's La Liga title. However, they have crumbled under pressure and with Real Madrid and Barcelona gaining significant momentum in the race, Atletico chances are now slim. Arch rivals Real also won the El Classico, a significant leap to their defense of the title and also stopping Barca's unbeaten run. Ronald Koeman's man have yet to face the table toppers with only two points separating them. Real look to be a more determined side to win it again provided they face Sevilla and Villareal only in a comfortable set of fixtures. Nothing as such for Atletico even though they have only Barcelona to worry about in the next set of fixtures. Similar story for Barcelona. The definitive date for any of them winning it is hard to predict and down to probabilities. It is all to play for in Spain.
1. Lille
This season Ligue 1 is a treat to watch. Otherwise dominated by Paris Saint Germain, an inflow of talent and great managerial heads have opened up a delightful title race in France. PSG have also shot on their foot because of inconsistent displays. Lille are positioned first at the moment but only three points separate them from the title holders, PSG. Not only that, third-placed Monaco and fourth-placed Lyon are not far off to capitalise from a fall off and crown themselves champions. Both are four and five points adrift respectively. Lille and Monaco both will play Lyon in the coming weeks while PSG had already played each of them twice in the league. Aside from facing high spirited Lens, the Parisians have a comfortable round of fixtures till the end of the season. Odds are on PSG to win but Lille can easily lift their second Ligue 1 trophy if all things stand correct. It's hard to define at the moment where the title can be won or lost for these candidates.
