Top 10 Players with most runs conceded in ODI cricket history

This is one topic that will be a nightmare for the bowlers and delight for the batters as no bowler likes to concede a lot of runs and all the batters want to score as many runs as possible against each bowler so this is one of those rare topics that divides the batters and bowlers.

There are a lot of players who have conceded a lot of runs but we have to see the Top 10 in this list and these are the Bowlers who have picked a lot of wickets but have also given a lot of runs in ODIs as well. So, let’s see who are the Top 10 Players who have conceded most runs in ODI cricket history.

1. Shahid Afridi (13632 Runs):

Shahid Afridi is a one of a kind cricketer and a terrific all rounder as he has scored lots of runs for Pakistan and taken a lot of wickets and as a fact while taking those many wickets he has given the most number of runs as a bowler in ODI cricket history and his leg spin was awesome but later In his career batters scored a lot of runs against him

2. Muttiah Muralitharan (12326 Runs):

This name should have been expected at the high on this list because of the amount of bowling he did and the number of wickets he has taken in his career so batters scoring lots of runs against him was to be expected but he would not mind because he became the highest wicket taker in ODI cricket history.

3. Sanath Jayasuriya (11871 Runs):

The third player on this list is also from Sri Lanka and uf is the left arm spinner Sanath Jayasuriya and he was also a proper all rounder who was very handy with the ball as well and while bowling his slow left arm spin the batters scored a lot of runs against him and that’s why he is high on this list.

4. Wasim Akram (11812 Runs):

This name would be this high on this list is simply unexpected because Wasim Akram was one of the most lethal fast bowlers of all time and he used to pick a lot of wickets at all times so it seems that the batters also found a way to score runs against him later in his career but still he was able to take more than 500 wickets.

5. Chaminda Vaas (11014 Runs):

Chaminda Vaas is one of those Bowlers who was not very fast but he used his swing to take a lot of wickets and 400 at that but he also conceded a lot of runs against good quality batters who took advantage of his slow pace.

6. Anil Kumble (10412 Runs):

The first and only player from India in this list and this shows that the bowlers from India generally do not concede a lot of runs when they pick wickets but Anil Kumble was a spin bowler and he bowled for a long period and the batters scored lots of runs against him as well but it is okay.

7. Waqar Younis (9919 Runs):

Waqar Younis was one of the fastest bowlers of all time and he was an intimidating bowler as well and he has got 416 ODI Wickets but he has conceded many runs in getting those wickets because the batters during his time were very good as well and they found ways to counter his bowling.

8. Lasith Malinga (9780 Runs):

The fourth bowler from Sri Lanka to feature on this list and it is the great Lasith Malinga and he also picked 338 wickets against the top batters in the world but also those batters sometimes also scored runs against him and that’s why he is on this list.

9. Daniel Vettori (9674 Runs):

The first and only Bowler from New Zealand to find his name in this list and it is one of the best spinners ever in Daniel Vettori. He also got more than 300 ODI wickets but like the other Bowlers in this list he too has given a lot of runs for getting those Wickets.

10. Shaun Pollock (9631 Runs):

The last and final name on our list is the great Shaun Pollock from South Africa and he also got 393 wickets but he has given lesser number of runs than the other Bowlers to get those Wickets which shows that getting runs against him was tough but he still gave away more t than 9000 runs.
