Century is a great achievement in any format of cricket. While the double century and triple century are special achievements in Test or first-class cricket, a double century isn’t a regular scene in the List A format, which is also known as one-day cricket.
When a batter scores a double century in List A format, it always becomes a remarkable feat. Scoring 200 runs in a speedy way makes the achievement only more special.

5. Ben Duckett
During the England Lions vs Sri Lanka A List A match in 2016 at Canterbury, the English left-handed batter scored 220 not out off 135 balls (29 fours and six sixes) which helped the England Lions to score 425/1 in 50 overs. With the help of 26 fours and five sixes, Duckett completed his double century in just 123 balls.
4. Travis Head
In October 2015, during the match against Western Australia, South Australia opener Travis Head scored a double century in a successful chasing of 351 runs. While South Australia reached the target in 46.3 overs, Head scored 202 off just 120 balls with the help of 20 fours and 12 sixes. In that innings, Head created a new record for the fastest List A double century by reaching the feat in 117 balls.
3. Narayan Jagadeesan
In November 2022, Indian cricketer Narayan Jagadeesan recorded the joint fastest List A century along with the highest List A individual score. The Tamil Nadu opener scored 277 runs off only 141 balls with the help of 25 fours and 15 sixes in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Arunachal Pradesh. He completed his double century in 114 balls. His batting powered Tamil Nadu to score 506/2 in 50 overs – the first 500+ total in List A cricket history.
2. Travis Head
In October 2021, six years after his fastest List A double century, Travis Head broke his own record by scoring his second List A double century between South Australia and Queensland match. This time he completed the 200-run mark in 114 balls. The skipper scored 230 runs off only 127 balls (28 fours and eight sixes) as South Australia scored 391/8 in 48 overs.
1. Chad Bowes
In late October 2024, Canterbury opener Chad Bowes recorded the fastest double century in List A or one-day cricket format. Against Otago, Bowes completed his double century in just 103 balls with the help of 27 fours and seven sixes. His 205 off 110 balls helped Canterbury to score 343/9 in 50 overs, and they won the match by 240 runs.
