While Bangladesh managed a flying start in the three-match home ODI series against Ireland with their record ODI total
and largest ODI win, their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan became the third cricketer to reach the ODI double – 7000 ODI runs and 300 ODI wickets.
During the ODI series opener at Sylhet, Bangladesh were sent to bat first.

In that first innings, Shakib Al Hasan scored 93 off 89 balls (nine fours) and Towhid Hridoy scored 92 off 85 balls (eight fours and two sixes). Also, the wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim slammed 44 runs off 26 balls (three fours and three sixes).
Among the Irish bowlers, Graham Hume had the bowling figures of 10-0-60-4.
During that innings, Shakib completed his 7000 ODI runs. In his 216 ODI innings, the left-handed batter scored 7069 runs. He became the second Bangladesh cricketer to complete 7000 ODI runs.

Coming back to the Sylhet ODI series opener, Ireland were bowled out for only 155 runs (30.5 overs). Only George Dockrell (45) and openers Stephen Doheny (34) and Paul Stirling (22) managed to reach the 20-run mark in that innings.
Bangladesh right-arm pacer Ebadot Hossain bagged four wickets (4/42), while the left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed got three wickets (3/43).
While Bangladesh won that ODI by 183 runs, it was their largest ODI victory margin (by runs).
