This time it was the Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das who smashed the Zimbabwe bowling attack to all parts and showed no mercy on their opposition. Both of them hit lots of sixes that day and hit big hundreds with Liton Das hitting an impressive 176 runs and Tamim Iqbal hitting a wonderful 128 run innings. 4. Upul Tharanga and Sanath Jayasuriya (286 Runs):
This record breaking opening partnership for Sri Lanka came against a strong England team and it came while chasing a big total of over 300 in the second innings. Both the Openers cane out all guns blazing and dominated the England bowlers and especially Sanath Jayasuriya was merciless that day hitting a score of over 150 runs and Upul Tharanga hit an amazing century and they helped Sri Lanka chase 324 runs in just under 38 overs abs win the match comfortably. This record breaking opening partnership for Australia in ODI cricket came against a great Pakistan bowling attack which had a lot of variety.
