Was it the right move by WWE by not having any PPVs for 2 months between Survivor Series WarGames and Royal Rumble?

WWE will not have any PPVs for 2 months between Survivor Series WarGames and Royal Rumble and it will be for the first time in a long time that there will be a 2 months gap between 2 huge WWE shows and we will discuss in that article that whether it was the right move by WWE to do this and what can this result to in the future 3 months.

WWE always had a PPV event in December for a number of years and mostly that event has been the TLC show where Tables, Ladders and Chairs are legal and it was a good B show by WWE and from that we would lead to the Royal Rumble but this year it will be totally different. Let’s see the changes and analyze this move.

Changes made to schedule

WWE has made a big change to the schedule this year between November and January. There will be no PPV in December after Survivor Series WarGames which will be held on November 26th in Boston and then on 28th January it will be the Royal Rumble. This means there will be a 2 months build to the second biggest show of the year for WWE and now let’s see whether this is a good move or not.

This is a great move by WWE

I think this move is great for WWE and it would have only made sense for 2-3 shows of the year namely WrestleMania, SummerSlam or the Royal Rumble for which this is being done. The Royal Rumble is many WWE fans favorite show of the year and the 2 Royal Rumble Matches that take place are the Favorite Matches for the whole year. WWE will only benefit by having this long gap as they will be able to build better stories for the show and the fans will be more invested in the product.

Having a show between the Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble always broke the momentum and having a filler show was of no use as the wrestlers had to perform one extra time when they could have easily built those weeks for the Royal Rumble and I am glad that this year they are finally doing that. Triple H has made all the right moves since taking over and this is another big one.

This 2 month gap also gives WWE the chance to build the other Matches on the show other than the Royal Rumble matches like the different Championship matches or the other matches and more superstars could return by that point and also WWE could tease other wrestlers returning to WWE. I love long storytelling and this is a great chance to show the fans what they can Do.
