This is a very subjective topic and one where the opinions could vary and it is the personal opinion of the writer so if you all do not agree with my choices it’s okay. There have been so many great finishing moves in WWE History that to choose 5 out of those is an extremely difficult task but a fun one as it allows us to relive all the great memories with all the opponents that this finisher has been hit on.

Without wasting anymore time let’s get straight into the Top 5 Greatest Finishing Moves in WWE History and let’s have some fun. The Superstars that did these moves made it famous because of how good they were and how often they won big matches with these finishing moves that when the fans knew that this move was hit the match was over. It takes a special skill to have a good finishing move and to get it over.

The Stunner- Stone Cold Steve Austin

I think there will be very few arguments that The Stunner is the greatest finishing move in WWE History and certainly the most over one. The fans used to wait for Stone Cold Steve Austin to come to the ring and give stunners to everyone and see how they sell it. Selling a stunner is also an art and The Rock, Scott Hall, Triple H, Austin Theory recently have took the Stunners very nut the worst sell of all time has to go to Vince McMahon because he cannot take it properly one single time also.

RKO- Randy Orton

This has almost become as iconic as the Stunner and seeing Randy Orton giving everyone RKO out of nowhere is a sight to behold. There is always a competition as to how awesome can an RKO be. Be it the one to Evan Bourne or Seth Rollins of Ricochet or Chad Cable all have took the move from different positions and it is also one of the safest moves.  RKO will be there for at least another 10 years so we will get to see more beautiful RKO moves.

Spear- Goldberg, Edge, Batista, Roman Reigns

This is an iconic move that is not done by Just one Superstar but by many others. Goldberg started the tradition in WCW with his devastating spears to finish matches and I think his is still the most impactful of all time. Then Edge took it as his finishing move and he did it in his own style from across the ring and it was beautiful to see. Batista also did a version of the spear which was good to see. Recently Roman Reigns has taken over the move and he does it to perfection as he wins all his matches with that move so the Spear has traveled generations.

People’s Elbow- The Rock

This is the most Electrifying move in Sports Entertainment and The Rock made it his own as after the Rock Bottom he used to do this move to win big Matches and he made the move so over that the fans wanted to see him do this move every time but it was a special finishing move that could not be used in every match. Like a WrestleMania 18 vs Hulk Hogan and WrestleMania 19 vs Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Tombstone Piledriver- The Undertaker

One of the best looking finishing moves and one that did a lot of damage and one of the most iconic moves is the Tombstone Piledriver by The Undertaker and he did it for 30 years and won thousands of matches with it including the 25 wins at WrestleMania. That move looked so damaging but it was safe and the audience knew that the match was over and when Shawn Michaels kicked out of it at WrestleMania 25 everyone was shocked and lost their minds so imagine how big that move was.
