The Bloodline Civil War was a Masterpiece in wrestling storytelling

The main event of the Money in the Bank PPV was the Bloodline Civil War match between The Usos vs Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa and the expectations from this match were already sky high because of the incredible Storytelling they have told in the last 3 years of The Bloodline and it all came to a head in this match. And the result was so great that this match deserved it's own separate article.

This match was rightly the main event of the event because nothing on the show came close other than a return that shocked the world. This match was awaited by all the fans and they made sure that they were heard. This match is easily 6 stars and one of the best matches of the year.

So, let’s look at the match in detail:

A Masterpiece was told in this match

The Bloodline Civil War was a match that lasted 40 minutes so the enormity of the occasion was well established. The entrances were great as first The Usos came out and the fans were loud for them and wanted them to win the match and then came out Roman Reigns with Solo Sikoa and they were booed out of the O2. The introductions were incredible as well and then the bell rang and the match had a slow build but the fans in London were in a great mood as they wanted to let Roman Reigns know that he is hated there. Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa took early control of the match but The Usos hung in there and it was looking like it would never end.

After a few minutes of Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa dominating it was Jey Uso who gave his team the much needed boost and he went after both his brothers on the other side and the pace of the match was picking up and the crowd was getting more into it. They came up with chants like “If you Hate Roman Reigns Stand Up* and then Roman Reigns would sit down and he would berate the crowd. Then the close finishes started happening and Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa were close on a number of occasions but The Usos did not give up. This match was getting into 4th gear.

Then the must exhilarating spot of the match arrived and here the referee was taken out as it happens in every Roman Reigns match and then The Usos hit the 1-D but no referee was there and then Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa teamed up and they hit the Spear and The Spike on The Usos but they kicked out and everyone lost their minds. Then Solo Sikoa wanted to take out Jimmy Uso through the table but he moved out of the way and Roman Reigns hit Jey Uso with the spear but he again kicked out and while kicking out he low blowed Roman Reigns like Roman had done to do many of his opponents. Then the unthinkable happened as The Usos hit Roman Reigns with Superkicks and in the end it was Jey Uso who hit the Splash and finally after 1294 days Roman Reigns was pinned in a WWE ring. During the time from December 2019 to now the world has changed and the world has come out of a pandemic.

This was easily the best tag team match of the year and by pinning Roman Reigns, Jey Uso has become the number 1 contender for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. And it looks like this will be the main event of SummerSlam. What an incredible show Money in the Bank was.
