The WWE Saudi Arabia Shows started in 2018 and the journey from that time to 2023 has been wonderful to say the least. The progression that WWE has made in these 5 years has been great to see and there were no shows in Saudi Arabia for almost 2 years and now every WWE superstar wants to go to Saudi Arabia and perform for the fans there.
The Saudi Arabia people have also evolved in these 5 years and the caliber of shows and the importance of these shows has also increased. So, let’s talk about the progression of the WWE Saudi Arabia shows
The Women have become a very important part of these shows
The biggest complaint from the WWE universe when these Saudi Arabia shows started was the lack of the women in these shows and for the first 2 years there were no women matches in the shows in Saudi Arabia. And most of the WWE universe was negative towards these shows for this reason, but in 2019 this changed as at WWE Crown Jewel the women had their first match in Saudi Arabia as Lacey Evans took on Natalya. And from there the representation for the women has grown. So much so that during the past few shows there have been more women’s Matches in the Saudi Arabia shows than what happens in the other PPVs of the year. For example there have been 3 or more women’s matches in the past 2 shoes and that is continuing in this one as well.

The shows have gone from Glorified house shows to actual PPVs
When the shows in Saudi Arabia first started then it was nothing more than Glorified house shows because the matches at that show had almost no bearing on the main WWE shows. And the fans chose not to watch these shows and from the past 2 years these shows have been given the status of actual PPVs when Elimination Chamber happened here and now WWE Night of Champions is happening here as well and the new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned at this PPV.

Sami Zayn can wrestle in Saudi Arabia and the fans have become more engaged in these shows
Sami Zayn will Wrestle his first match in Saudi Arabia and this is such a big deal and a real sign of progression of the Saudi Arabia shows because Sami Zayn was not allowed to perform at these shows as he was a Syrian Muslim but recently diplomatic dialogue has started between Saudi Arabia and Syria and Sami Zayn can come here. And the fans at these shows have become better and better as the years have gone by , Sasha Banks became emotional when she performed here as the fans sung her song and there is no doubt that the fans will be loud at this show. The WWE should continue these Saudi Arabia shows and do more such shows in other Arab nations.
