Roman Reigns at 1000 Decoding the Pros and Cons of this historic reign

Roman Reigns is about to reach 1000 days as the Universal Champion and it will happen on the Night of Champions PPV where he will compete for the Undisputed WWE tag team titles and this is one of the most anticipated matches of the show. However, the main fact is that Roman Reigns will reach 1000 days as a World Champion that day and this landmark has not been reached by any champion in WWE in the last 40 years and maybe this will be the last reign that goes for over a 1000 days.

It has been 3 years since Roman Reigns has been dominant at the top of WWE and he has faced the best of the best and defended the title 27 times and now it is time to look at what were the Pros and Cons of this historic title reign.

PROS

1) For the first time in 40 years a World Champion has breached the 1000 day mark and nobody thought this would ever happen and so it is a historic time for WWE which they can use in all their future stats.

2) Roman Reigns has taken his game to the next level and in these 1000 days, there have been so many Superstars whom he has elevated to the next level including the Usos, Solo Sikoa, Sami Zayn and so many others.

3) Roman Reigns was the leader when WWE had its most profitable years and the company breached the $1 Billion mark in revenue for the last 2 years and Roman Reigns had a big part to play in this happening.

4) Roman Reigns formed The Bloodline which is one of the greatest factions in WWE history where The Usos held the tag team titles for more than 620 days and Solo Sikoa has risen to main event status. And looking at The Bloodline a lot of other factions have also come in WWE in the past 3 years.

5) The Roman Reigns vs Jey Uso story is still some of the best storytelling in a feud in a long time and this was one of the biggest pros in the title reign.

6) Sami Zayn has been the biggest plus in this story and in that one year there was nothing in wrestling even close to the Bloodline and Roman Reigns was the central part of it as The Tribal Chief.

7) Roman Reigns will go in the record books and as the fourth longest reigning World Champion of all time.

CONS

1) With Roman Reigns being at the top no other WWE superstar was able to get to the top and everyone had to be in the shadow of Roman Reigns and as a result the morale of the WWE superstars was down.

2) Roman Reigns was not defending the title at every show so that meant that a lot of WWE PPVs was without the World Champion and that is never a good sign and devalues the show in general.

3) Ever since Roman Reigns won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 39, Raw has been without a World title and it felt pointless for all the top WWE superstars to fight as Roman Reigns held all the titles with him.

4) Cody Rhodes should have beaten Roman Reigns but the loss has pushed him back and now he has to come back to challenge Roman Reigns again.

5) The newly created World Heavyweight Championship feels like a secondary World Championship because Roman Reigns has it all and nobody could beat him and it will take time for the World Heavyweight Championship to feel as important.

6) The new part time deal that Roman Reigns got last year means that Roman Reigns will not be present almost all year and only be at the big shows so that means at SmackDown there will be a lack of opportunities.
