The next big event of WWE will be SummerSlam and it will be held in the first week of August in Detroit and the WWE fans have already started speculating as to which match could main event the show and there are plenty of options for WWE to make a great main event this year. Last year the main event was a rousing success as Brock Lesnar took on Roman Reigns in the best last man standing match of all time.
At Night of Champions a new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned and that title needs to be felt like it belongs in the main event scene and there are other matches that can be considered so let’s look at the options for the main event of SummerSlam 2023

Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam and this has been decided long back but the question is who should be the opponent for Roman Reigns and the match that Roman Reigns will be in can main event the show as has been happening since the last few years. And there is no better option than Cody Rhodes to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam but the question is how will it happen as both are on separate brands and this is where Money in the bank comes in as Cody Rhodes can win the match next month and then immediately challenge Roman Reigns for the rematch at SummerSlam.
2) Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre for World Heavyweight Championship
This is also a match that can easily main event SummerSlam as Drew McIntyre is due to be back after the Night of Champions PPV and he will take part in Money in the bank and Drew McIntyre can return as a heel and have a fresh character to sink his teeth into. Drew McIntyre as a heel facing Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of SummerSlam will accomplish a lot of things, first it will elevate the World Heavyweight Championship, second it will elevate both Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre and this will be a banger of a match.
3) Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch for Raw Women’s Championship
This is one other match that can easily main event the show because both are big time WWE superstars and they are at the top of their game. Rhea Ripley will be a dominant champion and she will need a strong and a worthy challenger at SummerSlam and the stature of the show demands it and so a match between Rhea Ripley and the biggest female WWE superstar in Becky Lynch will be a match that will steal the show as well as be a great main event for the event and no WWE fan will have any issues with it.
