Rivalries in WWE are the backbone of the product. Seeing 2 Elite superstars feuding with each other with promos and a gripping storyline eventually sells the match among the fans and they buy tickets to see it . Starting from Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage to John Cena vs Randy Orton ,these legendary rivalries stay etched in everyone’s mind and both the wrestlers along with it.
1. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock:
Without a doubt this is the biggest and the greatest rivalry in WWE History. Both these icons feuded with each other for a long time and had classic matches at Three different WrestleMania events which were WrestleMania 15,17 and 19. Both of these stars became mega stars while feeding with each other and they elevated each other into a different stratosphere. No one can forget the classic segments between the two including the beer truck segment or when Austin cost rock the WWE championship to Mankind. The promo work between the two was top notch as well and the 3 matches they had at WrestleMania were all classics and still remembered to this day fondly by all the fans.

2. Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels:
This is without a doubt one of the most personal rivalries in WWE History as they were also rivals in real life for a long period of time. Both Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels were two of the best wrestlers of their time and they always had classic matches between them . Both of them brought the best out of each other and gave the fans a wrestling clinic every time they wrestled. Although one incident changed the whole dynamic, The infamous Montreal Screw job in 1997 soured the relationship between the two legends. It lasted for 13 years and finally in 2010 then had a truce and a new beginning.
3. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon:
No other rivalry made the fans love someone so much and equally hate the other as much . Austin vs McMahon is probably the defining rivalry of wrestling. Austin was the beloved babyface and McMahon was the heel that everyone hated. Their rivalry wasn’t about the wrestling but the hate they had for each other and everyone could relate to it , an egoistical boss and a defiant employee going at it and Austin never let McMahon rest easy and always created trouble for him. Their segments are folklore and the fans still consider this as one of the biggest ever in wrestling.

4. Undertaker vs Kane:
This is one of the best told rivalries in WWE History and it became bigger and bigger with time . Undertaker was on top in the 90s and was having great matches with Shawn Michaels etc and in 1997 during the hell in a cell match with Shawn ,his Brother Kane debuted in the best debut segment of all time and went face to face with the Deadman. As the months grew by the rivalry got bigger and the fans were waiting for both of them to face off and they did at WrestleMania 14 in a classic and then they had an Inferno match in 1998. After some time they tagged together as Brothers of Destruction and again they had a match at WrestleMania 20. This was a 23 year old rivalry and it elevated both men .
5. Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels:
The rivalry where arguably Two of the Greatest WrestleMania matches took place at WrestleMania 25 and 26. Their rivalry started in the 1990s where they had great matches with each other and their feud got bigger in the late 2000s wherein they were both legends and they brought out the best in each other, be it promos or matches. They were the standard even at that time and their match at WrestleMania 25 was perfect where it was the lightness vs the darkness and it is widely regarded as one of the greatest matches of all time.
