As TATA has won the title sponsorship bid of the WPL, this tournament has been named TATA WPL for the first five seasons.
Women’s Premier League 2023 (WPL 2023): Tournament Details
In the inaugural WPL season, five teams are participating in the competition. These teams are Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz. While the first three teams are present in the men’s competition Indian Premier League (IPL), Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz are the new names in the T20 league cricket.
The WPL 2023 will begin on March 4. This tournament will have 22 matches, including the Final on March 26. DY Patil Stadium (Navi Mumbai) and Brabourne Stadium (Mumbai) will host the entire inaugural edition of the WPL.
After the completion of the league stage of this tournament (20 games), where each team will face all other teams twice, the top of the points table will secure their place in the Final. The second and third-positioned teams in the same points table will fight in the Eliminator for the remaining one spot in the Final.

Women’s Premier League 2023 (WPL 2023): Broadcasting Rights
Viacom 18 has won broadcasting rights. The media company has committed to pay INR 951 crore to broadcast the first five seasons (2023-2027) of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
