So, let’s look at the strongest playing 11 for Chennai Super Kings:
Opening Batters
Moeen Ali
It was a tough choice between Devon Conway and Moeen Ali for the openers slot and the edge goes to Moeen Ali because not only he is an attacking batter but he can also bowl off spin and is a proper all rounder and Devon Conway is a batter at the top of the order. He has played 44 Matches in the IPL so far and has scored 910 runs and taken 24 wickets.
Ruturaj Gaekwad
The second openers slot was easy as Ruturaj Gaekwad selects himself at the top based on his performances from the past couple of seasons and he will be looking to have his best season in front of his home fans. He has played 36 IPL matches so far and has made a good 1207 runs and he will be looking to add 500 more this season.

Middle Order
Ambati Rayadu
At number 3 will be the experienced Ambati Rayadu and he is a true veteran of the game and this might very well be his last season as he is touching 40 and he will be looking to score lots of runs with the bat and give CSK good starts. Ambati Rayadu has played a whopping 188 IPL Matches and he has made 4190 runs so far in his IPL career.
Shivam Dube
At number 4 will be a young batter from India who has not yet showed the spark that he had at the start of his career and he will seek to have a much better showing this IPL and he will be an all rounder in the playing 11. Shivam Dube has played 35 IPL Matches and has made 688 runs and taken 4 wickets till now.
Ben Stokes
At number 5 will come the talisman Ben Stokes who is one of the best additions in the Chennai team and he is a proper all rounder who can do everything. He can bat at number 5 and get quick runs for the team as well as he can bowl 4 overs and he is one of the best fielders. Ben Stokes has played 43 IPL Matches and he has made 920 runs so far as well as taken 28 wickets.
MS Dhoni- Captain
At number 6 will be the biggest legend in the IPL and a man who will be eager to go out with a bang and he would want to contribute for his team and score runs and lead his team to another IPL title. MS Dhoni is one of the greatest as he has played 234 IPL Matches and has made 4978 runs and will be looking to cross the 5000 run mark in the opening IPL match this season.
Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja is the best all rounder in the Chennai team and he has been playing with them since a decade and he is in great form and he will look to continue this great form in the IPL as well. He has played 210 IPL Matches and has made 2500 runs and 132 wickets so far.

Lower Order and Bowlers
Dwaine Pretorius
At number 8 is another all rounder and the start of the lower Order of Chennai and Dwaine Pretorius is a proper all rounder as well and he is someone who can change the match on his own. And he will look to contribute with both bat and ball. He has only played the 6 IPL Matches and has scored 44 runs and taken 6 wickets.
Deepak Chahar
At number 9 is Deepak Chahar who is yet another all rounder in the Chennai team and he is batting at number 9 and is one of the best new ball bowlers in the IPL. He will look to have his beat IPL season yet. Deepak Chahar has played 63 IPL Matches and he has made 79 runs and taken 59 wickets with the ball.
Prashant Solanki
This slot was reserved for Mukesh Chaudhary but he will not be able to play In the IPL and therefore Prashant Solanki will get to play in the IPL this season. He has only played 2 Matches so far and has taken 2 wickets and he will be looking for a better season.
Mahesh Theekshana
The last player who will complete the playing 11 for Chennai Super Kings will be Mahesh Theekshana and he will be the mystery spinner for Chennai. He will be looking to take a lot of wickets this season. He has played 9 Matches and has got 12 wickets so far.
