Saudi Arabia Grand Prix 2022 Formula 1 Race Results

The second Grand Prix of the 2022 Formula 1 calendar was one of the most exciting races in the last few years and it was only the second race of the season so it can be imagined how epic this season is going to be especially after the roller coaster of a season we had last year. Like in the Bahrain Grand Prix, Ferrari were the favorites to win this one as well and both their drivers getting podium finishes and Max Verstappen had to come back strong after a disaster of a first race last week.

The start of the race was electric as Sergio Perez started well as he got ahead of the Two Ferrari cars, Sainz was forced wide which opened the gap for Max Verstappen to go into third place in the race. After some time Nicholas Latifi lost control of his car and rammed it into the barrier thus bringing the safety car into play in the race. Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon spent the majority of the race wheel to wheel which allowed Bottas to take advantage and get ahead and Lewis Hamilton who started at 16th on the  grid got into 6th place after going past Magnussen.

A lot of failures

The pack spread out again before a host of failures in quick succession. Alonso, who spent much of the race in attack mode, got past Kevin Magnussen, but he lost the drive moments later with some kind of cooling problem and had to limp around the track. Bottas pulled into the pits and his car was retired while Daniel Ricciardo coasted to a stop just in front of the pit-lane entry, joined moments later by Alonso's Alpine. Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg pitted under the yellow flag, but the timing didn't work for Hamilton, who was still on the hard tyres with which he started the race. The pit lane closed with a virtual safety car.

The thrilling finish

After the race started again after the virtual safety car ,Max Verstappen and Leclerc were close and it was only a matter of time before Max Verstappen took the lead of the race in the last moments of the race and after that it was a battle of attrition for Max as he had to take on the coming Charles behind him and the Top 2 were going at it but in the end it was Max Verstappen who got the better of the Ferrari driver and won the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix of 2022 and his first points on the board as well but it is Charles Leclerc who is in the lead in the drivers standings with 45 points from 2 Races. The next Grand Prix is in Australia and it will be equally thrilling for all the fans.
