Manchester City on Monday announced that Star Striker Sergio Aguero will leave the club this summer when his contract expires after 10 years of incredible service at the Etihad.
In an official statement, Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, thanked and recognised Sergio Aguero's Contribution to the club. The chairman also announced that Aguero will be the 3rd City legend after Vincent Kompany and David Silva to have a statue at the Etihad Stadium.
Sergio Aguero joined Manchester City in the summer of 2011 from Atletico Madrid for a reported £35M. In his season with the citizens, the Argentine scored 30 goals including the infamous last-minute winner against QPR in the final game of the season that won Manchester City their first League title since 1968. Aguero then went on to score another 227 goals in the next 9 seasons.
Aguero has been the main man for Manchester City for 10 seasons and under 4 different managers. The last 2 seasons have been plagued with injuries for the striker where he played only 37 matches. Aguero has won 14 trophies with titles including 4 Premier Leagues. The striker won the Premier League golden boot in 2015 as he scored 26 goals.
Aguero is fully fit at the moment and would be keen to end his illustrious Manchester City career on a high with the club still fighting for all 4 trophies.
