Seasonal Awards
Player of the Season – Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
Manchester City’s Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne won the Player of the Season award at the end of the Premier League 2021/22 season. In his 30 appearances in this competition, he scored 15 goals and provided eight assists for his club. He played a crucial role in his team to retain the title.
Manager of the Season – Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool)
Liverpool finished as the runners-up in the Premier League 2021/22 as they finished one point behind the champions Manchester City. However, the Reds’ German manager Jurgen Klopp won the Manager of the Season award. In this PL season, Klopp’s Liverpool won 28 games, drew eight matches, and lost only twice. Though they finished as the second-best team this season, they suffered the least defeats this PL season.
Young Player of the Season– Phil Foden (Manchester City)
The 22-year-old Manchester City’s English midfielder Phil Foden won the Young Player of the Season award. In his 28 appearances in this PL season, Foden scored nine goals and provided five assists for his title-winning team.
Golden Boot – Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) & Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean footballer Son Heung-min and Liverpool’s Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah both won the Golden Boot award at the end of the Premier League 2021/22. Both won the most goal-scorer award of this tournament for scoring 23 goals each in this competition.
Golden Glove – Alisson (Liverpool) & Ederson (Manchester City)
Liverpool’s Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson and Manchester City’s Brazilian goalie Ederson both won the Golden Glove award of this PL season. Both ended this competition as the joint leader in the list of most clean sheets, which they recorded 20 times each.
Playmaker – Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Liverpool’s Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah also won the Playmaker award in this PL season for finishing as the leading assist provider in this competition with 13 assists.
Most Improbable Comeback – Tottenham Hotspur (vs Leicester City on 20th January 2022)
Tottenham Hotspur won the Most Improbable Comeback of the season award. On 20th January 2022, when Leicester City hosted Spurs, the visitors went behind twice. When the five minutes were added in the second half, the Spurs were trailing by 2-1, and their winning chance was less than one per cent.
However, substitute Steven Bergwijn scored two back-to-back goals for the Spurs in late stoppage times (90’+5’ and 90’+7’) to claim an unforgettable win. It is the first PL season where Most Improbable Comeback has been awarded.

Most Powerful Goal – Fernandinho (Manchester City vs Leeds on 30th April 2022)
Most Powerful Goal is another PL seasonal award that makes its debut this season. Manchester City’s Brazilian footballer Fernandinho won this award for his powerful goal from outside the box against the hosts Leeds on 30th April 2022. While it has been awarded to the highest-velocity goal-scoring shot in a PL season, Fernandinho’s shot clocked 73.08 miles per hour (117.61 kilometres per hour).

Game Changer – Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City vs Aston Villa on 22nd May 2022)
Manchester City’s German footballer Ilkay Gundogan won the Game Changer Award for this PL season. On the final day of the PL 2021/22, Manchester City hosted Aston Villa in a crucial game to seal the title. While City were struggling with 2-0 behind in 75 minutes, and they were very close to losing the PL title, the substitute Gundogan scored twice (76’ & 81’) and Rodri netted once (78’) in between Gundogan’s goals to secure their PL title with a 3-2 scoreline of the match.
Save of the Season – Jordan Pickford (Everton vs Chelsea on 1st May 2022)
Everton’s English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford won the Save of the Season award for an incredible goalline save from Cesar Azpilicueta during their home game against Chelsea on 1st May 2022.
Goal of the Season – Mohamed Salah (Liverpool vs Manchester City on 3rd October 2021)
Liverpool’s Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah won another seasonal award in the PL 2021/22 as he was chosen for the Goal of the Season award. It was their home match against Manchester City where Salah scored the Reds’ second-leading goal of the day (2-1) in an unstoppable way.
