Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-0 in the 185th Manchester Derby, extending their unbeaten run away from home in English top-flight football to 22 games and ending City's 28-game unbeaten record in all competitions. They went unbeaten in their next game as well, before losing in their 24th away game, putting an end to their winning streak.
As a consequence of the win, United moved into second place on the list of English Premier League teams with the longest unbeaten away runs. Only a few clubs have managed to go undefeated away from home. Let's take a look at some of the other teams that have accomplished something similar to or perhaps greater than the Old Trafford group.
5. Chelsea - 20 away games unbeaten (December 2007 - December 2008)
In Jose Mourinho's first term, Stamford Bridge was a fortress, but Chelsea were at their best on the road in 2007 and 2008. Their run came to an end with a 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford. The streak also happens to coincide with the Blues' 86-game unbeaten home run at Stamford Bridge, which is a club record. Between October 2004 and October 2005, the Blues had a 19-game winning run.

4. Liverpool - 21 away games unbeaten (January 2019 – February 2020)
Liverpool fans will remember the 2-1 loss to Manchester City in January 2019 as their title hopes ended. However, it goes without saying that this was only the beginning of the Merseysiders' successful quest. Between a 1-0 win against Brighton in January 2019 and an unexpected loss to Watford on February 29, 2020, Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool went unbeaten in a record 21 games. Along the way, the team went undefeated in the Premier League for 44 games, five fewer than Arsenal's record of 49 games set during the Invincibles period.
3. Arsenal - 23 away games unbeaten (August 2001- September 2002)
Arsenal's 23-game winning streak began with a 4-0 victory over Middlesbrough in the season opener, with goals from Henry, Robert Pires, and Bergkamp (two). It came to an end with a 2-1 defeat to Everton in September 2002, which marked the start of Wayne Rooney's Premier League career. The run prepared the way for Arsene Wenger's Invincibles to break their own record the following season.
2. Manchester United - 26 away games unbeaten (February 2020 - present)
With their victory over Wolves in the final game of the Premier League 2020/21 season, Manchester United extended their unbeaten Premier League record to 26 games. Last season, Ole-Gunnar Solskjr's side made history by becoming only the second team, after Arsenal, to go an entire season without losing away from home. Manchester United away records this season has been fascinating to watch, especially because the Red Devils have won eight games in a row after coming from behind. A club-record eight consecutive away victories were also part of the streak. The unbeaten run is still active and United can break Arsenal’s record in the next season.
1. Arsenal - 27 away games unbeaten (April 2003 – September 2004)
Inevitably, the Invincibles of Arsenal take this record as well. In a 2002-03 season in which they finished second to Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United, the Gunners began their record-breaking run with a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa on April 5th, 2003. In the 2003-04 season, Arsene Wenger's team went undefeated in all 38 league games, with 11 wins and eight draws in 19 away games. Again, the day it ended was unforgettable, as the Gunners were stopped in their tracks by Manchester United's disputed 2-0 defeat.
