Liverpool have certainly not been short of world-class strikers over the years. However, two stand out in recent times: Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez. The Spaniard has since retired, whilst Suarez has spent nearly six years at Barcelona.
Both strikers have incredible goalscoring records in a Liverpool shirt, but there is plenty of debate as to who was the better out of the two. During Torres' four years at Liverpool, the Spaniard scored 65 goals in 102 appearances, before his controversial transfer deadline day move to Premier League rivals Chelsea in January 2011.

Luis Suarez was brought in as Fernando Torres' replacement from Ajax for £22.8 million, which was a club record for at least a few hours. This was because Liverpool signed Andy Carroll from Newcastle for £35 million a couple of hours later.
Suarez hit the ground running straight away with his new team, and went on to score 69 goals in 110 appearances. One of his most famous goals at Anfield was a 40-yard screamer against Norwich right in front of the Kop, which has been showcased over and over again since for football fans all across the world to enjoy.

Both strikers were unable to win a Premier League title during their stint at Liverpool, with Suarez coming the closest in the 2013/14 campaign, when Liverpool finished a close second behind Manchester City.
Despite Liverpool failing to win the league since, they are currently 25 points clear of Man City, with just nine games to play. Unsurprisingly, Liverpool were all but expected to win the title prior to the break as it would require a collapse of epic proportions for them to lose having won 27 out of their 29 league games to date.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher expressed how significant Torres was to Liverpool, branding him one of the best strikers the Premier League has ever seen. He announced how shocked he and the rest of the squad were when he made his £50 million move to Chelsea.
The Reds were able to bring in one of Europe's biggest talents in Suarez, and fans were definitely not expecting the Uruguayan to have a similar record to Torres. Liverpool fans will probably choose Suarez over Torres, mainly due to the Spaniard's transfer to Chelsea, but it is very hard to split them on their technical ability of goalscoring prowess.
This is very much a debate that could go on until the cows come home. It's very much a personal preference, as both players were incredible during their time at Liverpool. One can only imagine how powerful they would have been together, and maybe, just maybe, they may have brought a Premier League title to Anfield.
