Ravindra Jadeja already picked up three wickets against Nepal at the group stage match in the Asia Cup 2023 to level Irfan Pathan’s record for most wickets for India in the ODI Asia Cup history. At the end of that game, Irfan and Jadeja both were standing with 22 ODI Asia Cup wickets each.

While Jadeja finished wicketless against Pakistan in the Super Four stage clash, he finished with the bowling figures of 10-0-33-2 against Sri Lanka, which proved to be the crucial match-winning bowling figures.
Asia Cup 2023 (Super Four): India beat Sri Lanka
After India chose to bat first, they scored 213 all out (49.1 overs). In reply, Kuldeep Yadav’s four-fer destroyed the host Lankan batting line-up completely for 172 runs (41.3 overs). India not only won that game by 41 runs but also booked their place in the Final of the competition.
Most wickets for India in Asia Cup (ODI): Ravindra Jadeja surpassed Irfan Pathan
Jadeja’s first wicket of the match against Sri Lanka was the skipper Dasun Shanaka (9). It helped Jadeja to surpass Irfan Pathan to record India’s most wickets in ODI Asia Cup history.
Jadeja later picked up another crucial wicket of set batter Dhananjaya de Silva (41) to shift the game towards the Indian side. At the end of the match, Jadeja collected 24 ODI Asia Cup wickets.
