The 24-year-old Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan smashed the fastest ODI double-century last Saturday (10th December) during the last game of the three-match ODI series against the hosts Bangladesh at Chattogram.
Though it was a dead rubber game in that ODI series, as the hosts Bangladesh already secured the series by 2-0 before that latest day/night ODI at Chattogram, Team India still brought big smiles to the fans with a dominating performance, majorly thanks to the double-centurion Ishan Kishan and centurion Virat Kohli, who completed his 72nd international century (2nd most international century; after Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 international centuries).
Ishan’s 210 off 131 balls and Kohli’s 113 off 91 balls helped India to manage their record ODI total against Bangladesh – 409/8 in 50 overs. In reply, Bangladesh were all out for just 182 runs as India claimed their third-largest ODI win (by runs) by 227 runs.
It was the first century in international cricket for the left-handed opening batter Ishan Kishan, who was playing his 10th ODI and 31st international match. It will be surely unforgettable in ODI history as he was just 24 years and 145 days old to record that ODI double-century.
