India is ready to host Men's FIH Hockey World Cup 2023. A total of 16 teams are participating in this contest that will run between 13 and 29 January 2023.
Odisha’s Kalinga Stadium (Bhubaneswar) and Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium (Rourkela) are ready to host this entire competition. A total of 44 matches have been scheduled for this tournament. The tournament structure and complete schedule have been brought out here.
First Round
Pool Stage (24 matches): Single round-robin system in every Pool (four Pools)
Second Round
Crossovers (4 matches): 2nd ranked team of one Pool vs 3rd ranked team of other closest Pool
Quarter-finals (4 matches): 1st ranked team of one Pool vs one Crossover winner
9th–16th place quarterfinals (4 matches): 4th/last ranked team of one Pool vs one Crossover loser
Semi-finals (2 matches): Meeting between Quarter-finals winners
