Senegal beat France by 1-0 (2002)
The defending champions France from 1998 came into the 2002 World Cup with confidence but all of that was shattered against Senegal as the much less fancied team beat France by 1-0 to send Shockwaves around the footballing world. This result showed that anyone can beat anyone in the FIFA World Cup. And Senegal football has risen a lot since then.
Cameron beat Argentina by 1-0 (1990)
The same fate would happen to Argentina exactly 12 years before the France one as Argentina who had won the 1986 World Cup were to suffer one of the biggest upsets of all time. They had the likes of Diego Maradona and Cameron, which was not a big football nation that shocked the world that day by beating Argentina 1-0 and just like Senegal, the football in Cameroon went up by a lot.

Saudi Arabia beat Argentina by 2-1 (2022)
This one is from the 2022 World Cup and this will always be one of the biggest and most shocking upsets in the history of the FIFA World Cup and I saw it Live. In this match it looked certain that Argentina would win but Saudi Arabia came back from behind to beat Argentina and end their 36 match unbeaten streak. This one woke up Argentina and now they are in the semi final.

Italy beat Brazil by 3-2 (1982)
In 1982 Italy were not the force in world football like they are today and they shocked the world that day when they beat the heat team and the defending champions from 1978 in Brazil. The great Brazilian team wanted to win back to back but they hit a roadblock in Italy who in a thriller beat them by 3 goals to 2. Paulo Rossi scored a hat trick in this match which is still remembered to this day.
USA best England by 1-0 (1950)
The last big upset that we will be talking about is from way back in 1950 when the United States became the first team to beat England in the world cup. This match was seen as being an easy one for England but what happened shocked the world and put the USA on the global map of football.
