The 2023 AFC Women's Club Championship will have eight clubs from eight countries competing in this invitational tournament. This is the fourth edition of the tournament and the last one in its present format. From the 2024-25 season, a new and expanded competition called AFC Women’s Champions League with more clubs participating will take its place. The tournament will kick off with the group stages on 6th November 2023 and end with the final set to be hosted in 2024.
The teams have been divided into two groups with the winners progressing to the final. Five teams will be making their debut this time namely Bangkok FC (Thailand), Hualien Women's Football Team (Chinese Taipei), FC Nasaf (Uzbekistan), Sydney FC (Australia) and Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies (Japan). The Group A matches will be held in Thailand with all the matches taking place at the Chonburi Stadium, Chonburi in Thailand. While the Group B games are hosted by Uzbekistan in two venues - JAR Stadium and Pakhtakor Stadium in Tashkent.
Japan’s league winners Urawa Red Diamonds will battle against Hualien from Chinese Taipei, local club Bangkok FC and the champions of India, Gokulam Kerala FC in Group A. The Malabarians are the only side in this group to have played in the competition before. The same case is for Group B’s Iranian league winners Bam Khatoon taking on hosts Uzbekistan’s representation FC Nasaf, South Korean league champions Hyundai Steel Red Angels and A-League winners Sydney FC
