India will face Mauritius to begin their title defence in the Intercontinental Cup 2024, having won the last edition in style in Bhubaneswar. The visitors have played India only once losing 2-1 in an international friendly in 2017. Like the hosts, who have not won a single game this year, Mauritius is going through a rough patch of form although they broke a six-game losing run with a 2-1 victory over Eswatini in their last game. Facing a lower-ranked opposition before facing a strong Syrian team in the other match, India will be desperate to see the face of victory after eight games. Their longest scoreless streak from open play ended last match but they have only managed to score two goals in that period.
