FCG vs JFC Match Preview :

Juan Ferrando's FC Goa were looking to extend their last ISL season brilliance and the excellent showing in AFC Champions League into the current one but faced the wrath of defending champions Mumbai City. The Islanders downed the Gaurs 3-0 in a classy showing where the orange army struggled to make anything happen. Their ex-striker Igor Angulo scored a quickfire brace, first from the spot and then a resounding strike from his left boot within 2 minutes, along with new signing Ygor Catatau leaving Goa to think about it all again. Coach Ferrando explained they lost the game in translations and the squad is not happy with the performance. A start like this against the defending champions was always a tough ask for them but they want to change things quickly in their next match against a side originating from the 'Steel City' of India.

Jamshedpur may have not suffered defeat but feels two points are dropped in the 1-1 draw against SC East Bengal. Owen Coyle led side registered 18 shots but only managed three on target. The goal came as the equalizer from captain Hartley after the Kolkata-based club took the lead through Franjo Prce from a corner. Jamshedpur will feel hard done by after dominating possession and having Arindam Bhattacharya thawing important strikes. Missing out on the playoffs last season was not a healthy note for them and it mainly happened because of their inefficiency to draw out results despite having the upper hand in certain games. They wish to change the narrative this time out facing a wounded yet fierce side to really kick start their campaign without making the recurring theme a habit every time.

Last Game :

FC Goa: 3-0 loss to Mumbai City

Jamshedpur: 1-1 draw against SC East Bengal

FCG vs JFC Team News :

Seriton Fernandes and Jorge Ortiz were given a few minutes in the defeat but they didn't start a crucial game like this. The manager explained he didn't want

to rush them to their responsibilities and have patience after both suffered injuries in the Durand Cup a few months back. New signing, Airam Cabrera found it difficult to impress in his ISL debut against such a tough opposition but Ferrando has faith in him and believes he will improve in coming games. Brandon Fernandes is out with his injury while Naveen Kumar faces late fitness to available for this fixture although Dheeraj Singh will start in between the sticks anyway.

JFC were able to get back attacker Jordan Murray, signed from Kerala Blasters and midfielder Greg Stewart from hamstring strains both sustained in the preseason. They were offered the last 20 minutes in the last game providing some spark to the toothless attack. Owen Coyle also confirmed that there are some players carrying niggles but they are not concerns for the game on Friday.

FCG vs JFC Expected Lineups :

FCG: Dheeraj Singh; Seriton Fernandes, Lalmangaihsanga (Papuia), Ivan Gonzalez, Sanson Pereira, Edu Bedia, Glan Martins, Alexander Romario Jesuraj, Alberto Noguera, Saviour Gama, Airam Cabrera.

JAM: TP Rehenesh(GK) , Laldinliana Renthlei, Eli Sabia, Peter Hartley, Ricky Lallawmawma, Jitendra Singh, Pronay Halder, Alex Lima, Seminlen Doungel, Boris Singh Thangjam, Nerijus Valskis

FCG vs JFC Head to Head :

Goa are unbeaten against Jamshedpur for the last two years. In this encounter last term, a magnificent brace for Jorge Ortiz and Ivan Gonzalez header gave them a splendid 3-0 win. In fact, Owen Coyle's side haven't tasted success against the Western state since 2019 when they won with a narrow 1-0 margin after some Subrata Pal excellence.

FCG vs JFC Dream11 Team Prediction :

GK: T Rehenesh (JFC)

DEF: Seriton (FCG), Hartley (JFC), Ivan Gonzalez (FCG), Gama (FCG)

MID: Bedia (FCG), Lima (JFC), P. Halder (JFC), Martins (FCG)

FW: Murray (JFC), Valskis (JFC)

Match Prediction: FC Goa 2-1 Jamshedpur

Juan Ferrando's side are usually solid and doesn't leak many goals let alone lose. So, they won't be wishing to take another sour result to their name and return strongly. Jamshedpur needs working upfront and that will restrict them from outscoring Goa in this one.
