ARS vs BRI Match Preview
It was a challenging outing at St James’ Park in a game which could have easily swung in anyone’s favour had some chances found the back of the net in an action-filled match. At last, Arsenal managed to maintain their cool to come out 2-0 winners with Martin Odegaard drilling in a first-half opener and Fabian Schar putting Gabriel Martinelli's low pacey cross into his own net later in the game. The Brazilian also hit the crosspiece but Newcastle could have painted the picture for themselves with Jacob Murphy hitting the post with the score 0-0 and then denied a penalty in the first half by VAR. Aleksander Isak’s header hit the upright in the second half as well. Both goalkeepers, Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale were at the top of their action making crucial saves to save their respective sides from downfall. The victory was the second on the spin for the Gunners and a very important one for the crunching schedule they have. Arsenal are just a point behind Manchester City in the second going to face Brighton in view of picking full points a wish Everton do them a favour by beating the holders in their match as they did by denting the Seagull's confidence in the 5-1 win. Mikel Arteta's side are looking for the double in this fixture having triumphed in the reverse fixture 4-2 at AMEX. Arsenal will hope to see off their last challenging fixtures before facing relegation battler Nottingham Forest and Wolves to finish off the campaign with a possible winners medal around the neck should City falter by then.
Meanwhile, Brighton’s European football hopes took a massive blow in the hands of Everton in that thrashing at home. It was a result nobody saw coming provided that Roberto De Zerbi’s side were the side thrashing opposition with breathtaking football but went down against a team struggling to win. The Seagulls went down within seconds after kick-off and could not recover as Everton steamrolled them with Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dwight McNeil scoring twice with the other one being a Jason Steele own goal. The Italian will be disappointed at the result that halted their progress up the table and came after they demolished Wolverhampton 6-0 and took revenge over their FA Cup semifinal defeat against Manchester United in the previous two matches in the league played at home. The job does not get easier from here as they face Arsenal at Emirates next then take on Newcastle, Manchester City and Aston Villa in four of the last five matches as top-six opponents in the table. Brighton have won three of their last four away games against Arsenal in all competitions but the meeting on Sunday will be nothing like those previous ones. The Seagulls have also won just twice of their last seven league games on the travel so the record against the Gunners might not come in handy at the moment. The result in this game will not define their respective season but could be significant in the run-in should any of them suffer a loss.

ARS vs BRI Team News
Mikel Arteta has denied reports suggesting William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko missing the remaining games of the season as the Frenchman continues to struggle with his back problem. The Ukrainian though is only a doubt after being substituted with a calf problem against Newcastle last weekend. Scotland international Kieran Tierney will slot in the left-back spot if the former Manchester City man is not passed fit ahead of the clash. Jakub Kiwior has stabilised Arsenal’s defense since his introduction to the starting eleven and he will continue at center-back spot over Rob Holding. Former Brighton ace Leandro Trossard will start from the bench against his old side.
Adam Webster and Solly March have been ruled out for Brighton due to a muscle and a hamstring injury respectively. However, the Seagulls are able to recall Evan Ferguson back to the squad after he played a half against Everton last week returning from an ankle injury. Jeremy Sarmiento (ankle), Tariq Lamptey (knee), Joel Veltman (thigh), Adam Lallana (thigh) and Jakub Moder (knee) are all out. Joel Veltman's availability is also a doubt with a muscle problem. De Zerbi is expected to make a spiral of changes from the humiliating defeat at AMEX.
