Pakistan star cricketer Babar Azam is currently in unstoppable form with the bat, especially in the ODI format. The 28-year-old right-handed batter now recorded the fastest to complete 5000 ODI runs.
It was the fourth game of the five-match ODI series between the hosts Pakistan and visitors New Zealand at Karachi, where the skipper Babar Azam’s solid batting helped his team to take the 4-0 lead in the series.
Player of the Match Babar’s 107 runs off 117 balls (10 fours) played a massive role for Pakistan to manage the big first innings total of 334/6 in 50 overs. In reply, New Zealand were all out for 232 runs (43.4 overs) as Pakistan claimed their straight fourth victory in this series (won by 102 runs).

During that centurion knock, Babar also completed his 5000 ODI runs in 97 ODI innings (99 matches). The right-handed batter has scored 5088 runs in 97 ODI innings with an average of 59.85.
Babar became the first batter to complete 5000 ODI runs in less than 100 ODI innings. The previous record holder of the fastest 5000 ODI runs was the former South African cricketer Hashim Amla. The Proteas’ right-handed batter previously recorded that in 101 ODI innings.
