India women’s cricket team secured a medal after reaching the Final of the Asian Games 2022. In the Final of the tournament, they will face Sri Lanka Women.
Asian Games 2023: Women’s Cricket — Bangladesh were all out for 51 runs
In the Semifinal of women’s cricket at the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou (China), Bangladesh Women chose to bat first after winning the toss against India Women. However, the two-time silver medalists were bundled out for only 51 runs in 17.5 overs.
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana (12) was the only batter to reach the double-digit score in that innings. Meanwhile, five Bangladesh batters scored ducks in that innings.
Among the Indian bowlers, Pooja Vastrakar bagged four wickets as she finished with the bowling figures of 4-0-17-4. WT20I debutant Titas Sadhu also picked up a wicket (4-0-10-1) just like the other three Indian bowlers (Amanjot Kaur 1/10, Rajeshwari Gayakwad 1/8, and Devika Vaidya 1/0).
Asian Games 2023: Women’s Cricket — India chased 52 runs target in 8.2 overs
In reply, India Women chased down the 52 runs target in 8.2 overs after losing two wickets. While Jemimah Rodrigues scored 20 not out, opener Shafali Verma scored 17 runs.
Asian Games 2023: Women’s Cricket — Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in the other Semifinal
In the other Semifinal, Sri Lanka Women beat Pakistan Women by six wickets. While Pakistan Women scored 75/9 in 20 overs, Sri Lanka Women successfully chased the target in 16.3 overs after losing four wickets.
On Monday (September 25), India and Sri Lanka will face each other in the Final of the women’s cricket at the Asian Games 2022.
