Sachin Tendulkar - 6 times

The little master played the Cricket World cup 6 times in his illustrious career.

He was the part of team India in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007 and finally 2011. Sachin finally becomes a part of the World cup winning squad in 2011 when India ended a 28-year long wait to lift the cup at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. He has the most number of runs and centuries in the World cup, the master batsman scored an astonishing 2,278 world cup runs along with 6 centuries.

Javed Miandad- 6 times

The legendary Pakistani Batsman has played 6 world cups in his career. Miandad played six World Cups in the span of 1975- 1996. Miandad was an integral part of the Pakistani side that became champions in 1992. He scored 1083 World cup runs in the 33 matches he played in World Cups.





Ricky Ponting- 5 times

The great Ricky Ponting played 5 cricket World Cups from 1996-2011. He made Australia champions two times under his captaincy in 2003 in South Africa and 2007 West Indies. He was also a part of the Australian Squad that became champions in 1999. In terms of matches in the World cup he has played the most, he has played 46 matches in which he has scored 1743 runs and 5 centuries.




Mahela Jayawardena- 5 times

The stylish batsman and former Sri Lanka skipper has played the cricket World cup on 5 occasions from 1999-2015. Mahela, however, wasn’t able to win the World cup as the Lankans lost two back to back finals in 2007 and 2011 respectively. Mahela scored 1100 with 4 world cup hundreds in his career.




Jacques Kallis- 5 times

Perhaps the greatest all rounder the world has ever seen, Kallis played the Cricket World cup on 5 occasions in his legendary career. He scored 1148 runs in 26 matches also has a century against his name in World cups.


Chris Gayle- 5 times

The universal boss is currently playing in his 5th World cup, so far the West Indian opener has smashed a total of 1015 runs in 28 matches with 2 hundreds.


Aravinda de Silva- 5 times

The Sri Lankan legend has also been a part of 5 cricket World cups in the span of 1987-2003. He has 1064 runs at an average of 36.68 with 2 hundreds. He was the part of the squad when Sri Lanka became champions in 1996.
