THE MISSION & VISION :
The entity aims to focus on football-related business around the world. Their key point of interest is to uplift different football ecosystems. The motive is to provide help through funding, technical and marketing activities. The CFG is invested in foreseeing and understanding the future of football as well. The accomplishments although will depend on the approach towards the developmental activities. Keeping in mind that the entity has been performing all right, the future seems to be soothing. But, their key focus will master in appealing to a wider fanbase worldwide for Manchester City’s growth as a trademark.
The entity boasts of a high-ranked youth development system, and a global scouting network. The CFG owns three high performing clubs and owns minor stakes in the other three. Accompanying Manchester City, they have Melbourne City FC and the New York City FC as the other two teams where they hold major stakes. The other three in the list are the Yokohama F Marinos, Club Atletico Torque and Girona FC.
However, the City Football Group is not restricted to invest in the primitive football ecosystem. In July 2016, City Football Group announced its first investment in competitive FIFA with the signing of a player for Manchester City, becoming only the second Premier League Club to sign an esports player. Today, Manchester City is represented by former PlayStation 4 World Champion Kai ‘deto’ Wollin, and 2018’s FeWC semi-finalist Marcus ‘Marcuzo’ Jorgensen.
THE INSTITUTION :
With the investments at play, the group has started to build its own institution - opting Manchester City as the principal. The CFG has formed a network, where the members are accommodated from all over the world and plans to be admitting newer students. The recent reports forecast that the CFG is also planning to take a call and establish their roots in India. Although, there have been no compact talks about the planning; an investment can untick a milestone for the football industry in India.
Moving on, will this quest of investing in smaller clubs bear the fruits and make the League leaders and their owners a big brand? Or will this enterprise turn out to be another of the key investors in the Sporting fraternity? An answer, time will reveal.
