The winner of the second season of Pro Kabaddi League, U Mumba, are set to lockhorns against Bengaluru Bulls, slated on December 22 on the opening day of Pro Kabaddi League season 8. Earlier, U Mumba had a phenomenal outing during the last season where they finished in the top-4 of the points table in PKL 7. However, they lost against league champions Bengal Warriors in a close contest.
During the recently concluded auction for PKL 8, U Mumba assured and assembled a strong team who can win the title.

1. Bunch of All-rounders:
The biggest strength U Mumba have is the depth in the all-rounder department. Having no strong backups in the raiding and defensive departments, U Mumba kept the 4 all-rounders in the squad who can perform in any position whenever required. Earlier, Indian all-rounder Ajinkya Kapre has been retained, which is the key factor fron U Mumba;s success. Additionally, the Mumbai based-franchise reinstated the trio of Ashish Sangwan, Pankaj, Mohsen Maghsoudlou Jafari in the all-rounder department. These 4 all-rounders will definitely keep an edge over the other teams on paper.

2. Star Abhishek Singh’s raiding skills:
Abhishek Singh, the previous season star raider for U Mumba, has been retained by the Mumbai based-franchise. Notably, Singh scalped 163 raid points in 21 encounters during the last edition of Pro Kabaddi League. He has been adjudged as the vice-captain of the team this coming season and he will also be spearheading the raiding department in PKL 8. And hence, it would be fascinating to see if the star raider can put justice to his role and responsibilities given in the upcoming season.

3. Presence of Fazel Atrachali:
Considered as the best overseas player in the whole PKL, Fazel Atrachali, has been the pillar in defense for whichever team he plays. Coming to the stats, the Iranian concluded the previous season by taking the most tackle points in the league. With his impregnable defensive abilities and known as the man with nerves of steel, Fazel makes the U Mumba squad strongest especially in the defense section. It would be interesting to see if the Iranian could continue his breath-taking performances and help U Mumba in winning the trophy.
In totality, U Mumba could go all guns blazing in the upcoming season of PKL 8 as they have specialists and experienced players to fill in for every position.
