Riyan Parag Das was born on 10th November,2001. He is from Guwahati, Assam. His height is 6 feet. He is a right handed batsman and can bowl right arm off break as well. Riyan belongs to a sports background family. Riyan Parag's father Parag Das is a former Indian Cricket team player. He played for both Assam and Railways at the domestic level. His father helped him as a coach or mentor as he had many experiences in that field. His mother, Mithoo Barooah Das was a swimmer. She was a National Record Holder in swimming. Riyan started his cricketing career from a very young age and got selected into the U-16 team when he was just 12 years old. He was overweight at the beginning of his career, so he followed a ketogenic diet to help reduce his weight.
In January,2017 he made his T20 debut against Jharkhand in the 2016-17 Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament. Later in that year, he was selected for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup. Before that, he made his U19 debut against England in the Youth test in the month of July. He scored fifties in both the innings. He scored 68 and 50 in the first and second innings respectively. He showed his immense talent and temperament in both the innings. This innings impressed the selectors as well. He made his U-19 ODI debut against Bangladesh in that same year. In the 2017-18 Ranji trophy season, he made his debut against Hyderabad. He showed his useful leg spin skills in that match and picked up two wickets. He scored 248 runs for Assam in the Vijay Hazare trophy which made him the highest scorer for Assam in that tournament. He scored the second fastest fifty in the Youth test after Virat Kohli. He completed his fifty in 33 balls.
In 2018, he was part of India's U-19 Cricket World team. India won that edition of the World Cup and it was a joyful moment for him as well as family. Winning a World Cup is always a special thing for any sportsman in the world.
In first class career, he scored 167 runs in 4 matches at an average of 23.85. In List A career, he scored 413 runs in 15 matches at an average of 27.53. He also took 11 wickets in this format. In T20 career, he scored 285 runs in 16 matches at an average of 23.75. In the IPL, he plays for the Rajasthan Royals. He is a very crucial member of that team because of all round skills. The coaching staff rate him highly and said that he can become a great finisher.
