Two times champions of IPL Trophy will begin their another IPL campaign under the captaincy of Eoin Morgan. Still being filled with quality players the consistency factor is still missing in KKR team in the last few seasons. While under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir KKR was the team to reckon with and also holds the record streak of winning 10 games in a row.

But with the change of captain, not just KKR left behind in the middle of uncertainties but also failed to utilize the kind of players they have in the team over the years. At once KKR has easily made to playoffs but in the last two seasons they failed to prove the authority of the best side in the league.

With the return of Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, the KKR team has the balance in the middle order to not just qualify for the playoffs but also lift the trophy for the third time if things worked out in their favour. Even in the fast bowling KKR has the quality bowlers in the form of Pat Cummins, Lockie Ferguson and Ben Cutting who can lead the pace attack for them but who will support them from Indian bench strength, it will be interesting to find out. Having said, let's take a look at KKR Squad, weakness and strengths ahead of IPL 2021.

KKR Squad –

Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Kuldeep Yadav, Lockie Ferguson, Nitish Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Rinku Singh, Sandeep Warrier, Shivam Mavi, Shubman Gill, Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Rahul Tripathi, Varun Chakravarthy, Tim Seifert, Shakib Al Hasan, Sheldon Jackson, Harbhajan Singh, Ben Cutting, Venkatesh Iyer, Pawan Negi, Vaibhav Arora and Karun Nair.

Strengths – KKR always have the best pinch hitters

Looking at the current line-up of KKR, they have enough pinch hitters from top order to middle order to win games for KKR single handedly. In the form of Andre Russell, Tim Seifert, Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi, KKR are likely to begin their campaign on a great note.

Even in the all-rounders column, KKR look very much a complete team with Shakib Al Hasan, Ben Cutting and Sunil Narine who can be the game changers for them at any phase of the tournament.

Weakness – Opening batsman unstability and fast bowlers

Shubman Gill is not having a great season last year for KKR but still KKR franchise has retained him after his recent consistent performance for team India. Now who will open the innings for KKR ahead of IPL 2021, with Gautam Gambhir and Sunil Narine this team was unstoppable in the power play overs with the destructive batting most of the time.

But after the Gautam Gambhir retirement, KKR franchise is not successful to find the opening pair batsman again in the IPL. With the other season, they have the option with Tim Seifert and Rahul Tripathi to open the innings as both are great players of hard hitting especially in the power play overs.

Like other teams, KKR don't have enough back-up options of regular experienced players in case of injury. With limited options, KKR success is highly dependent on overseas players.
