Mens FIH Hockey World Cup 2023 Netherlands Create World Cup History With 14-0 Win

On the sixth day of the Men's FIH Hockey World Cup 2023, the Netherlands set up the new FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup record of the largest victory margin as well as the most goals for a team. In their last game in Pool C, the Dutch team destroyed the World Cup debutants Chile by 14-0.

Though the opening quarter saw only one goal as Jip Janssen scored that goal in the sixth minute, the next two quarters had four and six goals respectively for the three-time World Cup winners. In the final quarter, the Dutch added three more goals to create new World Cup history.

While the Player of the Match Jip Janssen netted four times, Thierry Brinkman also recorded a hat-trick with three goals, and Koen Bijen had a brace. The other five players scored one goal each in the same game.
