Canadian Grand Prix 2023 Results

The latest Grand Prix took place in Canada yesterday and it was a far more interesting race than many of the previous races. The Canada Grand Prix was one of those races that saw the best rise up to the challenge and saw some performances that were unexpected and this has made the standings interesting and this race showed that there is no substitute for experience in this sport. There are a lot of races left and it will take something really special to take the title from Max Verstappen.

So, let’s look at the results from the Canada Grand Prix 2023.

Race Results

The race starts and it is Max Verstappen who is in the lead and Lewis Hamilton has taken the second spot from Fernando Alonso. It is Lap 4 and Fernando Alonso has the fastest lap of the race and Max Verstappen leads by one second In this race. Lap 6 and Max Verstappen leads by 2 seconds and Lewis Hamilton is being chased by Fernando Alonso for P2. George Russell is in P4 and Esteban Ocon is in P5. There is a yellow flsg and Logan Sargeant is out of the race. The race starts and Fernando Alonso is chasing Lewis Hamilton again and Oscar Piastri is upto P6. There is another yellow flag as George Russell collides with the wall and Lewis Hamilton almost hits Fernando Alonso at the pits.

Lap 16 and it is Max Verstappen at the top followed by Hamilton, Alonso, Leclerc, Perez and Carlos Sainz. Lap 20 and Max Verstappen is yet again ahead by 1.6 seconds of Lewis Hamilton. Lap 22 and finally Fernando Alonso goes past Lewis Hamilton to get to P2 which he deserved so much. It is lap 26 and Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are P4 and P5 and they are told not to race each other. Lap 30 and Max Verstappen has a 2 second lead over Fernando Alonso and Alonso has a 2.6 second lead over Lewis Hamilton. It is lap 39 and Sergio Perez pits and he comes out in P7. And Lando Norris gets a 5 second penalty for unsportsman like behaviour

Lap 42 and Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton pit and they come out in exactly the same order. It is Lap 47 and Lewis Hamilton puts the fastest lap of the race and Max Verstappen is 5.6 seconds ahead of Fernando Alonso. It is Lap 49 and Alexander Albon is having a great race and is at P7 for Williams. It is Lap 53 and the winds are getting stronger and it is looking like it will rain. Lap 56 and George Russell has to be forced out of the race after such a great effort to stay In a good position. It is Lap 59 and now Lewis Hamilton is closing in on Fernando Alonso who has a 1.5 second lead. It is Lap 62 and Lewis Hamilton is trying his best but Fernando Alonso increases his lead to 2 seconds. Lap 67 and Max Verstappen had a collision but he is simply unstoppable this season. It is the end of Lap 70 and Max Verstappen wins the race followed by Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.
