When Indian superstar cricketer Virat Kohli comes to bat these days, he mostly shines with records. During the crucial Super Four stage game at the Asia Cup 2023 against Pakistan, Kohli not only slammed his 47th ODI century but also recorded the fastest 13000 ODI runs.
Due to having a special reserve day for that high-voltage Asia Cup encounter, we experienced a two-day rain-marred dominant cricket for India against Pakistan. After India were sent to bat first, openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a strong start with a century partnership.

The dominant batting helped India to manage the giant first innings total of 356/2 in 50 overs. In reply, Pakistan scored 128/8 in 32 overs as the last two batters couldn’t bat due to injuries. India won that crucial game by 228 runs to power the net run-rate battle.
During that game, Kohli smashed his 47th ODI hundred or 77th international century. It was also his fourth successive ODI century at the R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo).
