The 24-year-old Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan became the first spinner and second bowler to reach the 500 T20 wickets milestone.
Currently, Rashid Khan is busy in the inaugural SA20 competition, where he is serving for MI Cape Town. On 23rd January, when MI Cape Town hosted Pretoria Capitals, the Afghan spinner had the bowling figures of 4-0-16-3. While Clyde Fortuin was the last victim of Rashid’s bowling in that game, it was the completion of the leg-spinner’s 500 T20 wickets.
Dwayne Bravo: 1st to record 500 T20 wickets
Caribbean right-arm pacer Dwayne Bravo was the first bowler to take 500 T20 wickets. While Bravo took 459 T20 matches to reach that milestone, Rashid managed to reach the same feat in 371 T20 matches.
Bravo is currently busy in the International League T20 in UAE. He has already taken 614 wickets in 556 T20 matches.
