While PSL 2023 have produced a lot of high-scoring matches, it became insane in the 28th game of the tournament at Rawalpindi, where Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators faced each other. They not only produced the top two record totals in PSL history but also set up the T20 cricket record for the highest match aggregate with 515 runs.
Although Gladiators closely failed to break the record T20 chasing, they recorded the highest T20 total in the second innings in the same game.

Usman Khan recorded the fastest PSL century: 36-ball 100
That match was played last Saturday (11 March) night, where Gladiators chose to field first. In the first innings, while the Sultans’ openers Usman Khan and skipper Mohammad Rizwan set up the 157 runs partnership for the first wicket, the 27-year-old Usman recorded the fastest century in PSL history – 36-ball 100.
While the Sultans’ teammate Rilee Rossouw broke his own PSL fastest century record on the previous night, Usman recorded better on the next night.

Usman’s 120 off only 43 balls (12 fours and 9 sixes), Rizwan’s 55 off 29 balls (6 fours and 2 sixes) and Tim David’s 25-ball 43 runs (1 four and 4 sixes) massively helped Sultans to set up the giant total of 262/3 in 20 overs.
In chasing, Omair Yousuf (67 off 36 balls; 7 fours and 3 sixes) and Iftikhar Ahmed (53 off 31 balls; 4 fours and 4 sixes) played big roles for Gladiators, while others also provided some support to fight back. Ultimately, Gladiators replied with 253/8 in 20 overs as Sultans won the match by nine runs.

While Sultans’ 262/3 was the new record total in PSL history (joint ninth-highest T20 total), Gladiators’ 253/8 was not only the second-highest PSL total but also the record T20 total in second batting.

Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators: Highest match aggregate in T20
So, a total of 515 runs were scored for the loss of 11 wickets at the end of 40 overs during the 28th PSL 2023 match Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators at Rawalpindi. It was the second time in T20 cricket history to experience more than 500 runs in a complete match, which also broke the previous record for the highest match aggregate in T20 cricket (501 runs: Titans vs Knights).
