In the 11 season rich history of the BBL, teams have made some gigantic scores in their 20 overs and thus earning themselves a record in the history books. These scores do not happen every other day in T20 cricket and it takes an extraordinary amount of effort from all the batters in the team or one batter has to play the innings of his life to achieve it
A lot of players have contributed to their team’s overall score when a team hits a record breaking score in a BBL game. The bowlers however are just mere spectators and they are there to just get hit fir fours and sixes in such a type of batting innings. Let’s look at the Top 5 Highest team scores in BBL History.
1. Sydney Thunder (232 Runs):
This is the record for the Highest team score in the history of the BBL. This monster of a team batting effort took place last year in January 2021 and the Sydney Sixers bowlers were getting hammered all around the ground and sometimes out of it as well. Alex Hales was the star of the innings as he scored an amazing century off just 56 balls with 9 fours and 8 huge sixes in his innings. All the other batters impressed him greatly and thus they were able to create history and set a BBL record and it will take some unreal effort to break it.

2. Hobart Hurricanes (223 Runs):
The Hobart Hurricanes played this incredible innings while chasing a score of 223 in 20 overs which makes it more phenomenal that even after so much scoreboard pressure they persevered and won the match. This innings was the Ben McDermott and George Bailey show as both the batters destroyed the Melbourne Renegades bowling attack and Ben McDermott hit a superb century and George Bailey hit a great fifty as well and they guided the Hobart Hurricanes to a famous win in the BBL.
3. Melbourne Renegades (222 Runs):
This particular match between the Melbourne Renegades and Hobart Hurricanes is the highest aggregate scoring match as both these teams hit so many runs that they both ended in the top 5 of this list. Melbourne Renegades batted first and Aaron Finch and Tom Cooper were amazing in their innings with both hitting half centuries but the Hobart Hurricanes made history that day by chasing the Highest total in BBL History.

4. Melbourne Stars (219 Runs):
This is the innings of Marcus Stoinis as he smashed the Highest individual score in BBL History with a sensational 147 runs not out in just 79 balls with 13 fours and 8 massive sixes and from the other end Hilton Cartwright played a valuable innings as he hit a wonderful 50 and the Stars lost only one wicket throughout their 20 overs and thus were the team that became to lose the fewest wickets while making such a massive score. It was an exhibition in batsmanship by Stoinis that day and all the fans got their money's worth.
5. Sydney Thunder (219 Runs):
This was an innings of two parts, a dominant top order performance and a dismal lower order performance but the tip order performance was such that the Thunder reached such a huge score. It was anchored by Alex Hales and Callum Ferguson as both made brutal half centuries and guided the Sydney Thunder team to such a big score and they won the match as well.
