Miami Heat: Turning heads around the league

Nobody had thought that out of all the teams in the eastern conference, it would be the Miami Heat prevailing over all others but Jimmy Butler and the rest of the Heat squad were just on a different level altogether.

The Miami Heat managed to catch a lot of teams off-guard and beat them, making it to the eastern conference playoffs.

Nobody had thought that out of all the teams in the eastern conference, it would be the Miami Heat prevailing over all others. Even my favorites were the Milwaukee Bucks or probably Boston but Jimmy Butler and the rest of the Heat squad were just on a different level altogether.

If you take a closer look at the Miami Heat roster, nothing really stands out of the ordinary but what only few would see is the tightly knit team chemistry they’ve displayed this past season.

Here are some of the things that have perfectly worked out for the Miami Heat this season :-

Jimmy Butler was traded to a lot of teams these past few seasons but finally felt at home with the Miami Heat as soon as he came here and you could see that in his gameplay. Miami front office gave Butler the green light to take over and that he did. Jimmy ‘Buckets’ went off with the Heat, becoming their team leader, helping Goran Dragic take some load off.

After trading away Hassan Whiteside, their star center, the Miami Heat were in quite a predicament as to who’ll start at the center position. Surprisingly trading away their star worked wonders for them as they could clear much needed cap space and found a gem in their backup rookie center in Bam Adebayo. Bam is an interior force on both sides of the court. He has the ability to score inside while also play excellent defense in the post. Butler and Adebayo have had a great chemistry this season, making them the main dynamic duo of the team.

And the last thing that turned into a blessing for them is drafting Tyler Herro and the development of Duncan Robinson this past off-season. Herro is an absolute sharpshooter from anywhere on the court and Robinson has also developed into a 3point specialist in the past few years. The impact Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson have had these playoffs has been insane. Sinking deep threes and breaking playoff records, Herro and Robinson have cemented their place on this Miami Heat roster.

Now almost everyone remembers the last time the Miami Heat were on top of the league. It was all due to the newly formed big three of Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James. Wade was already an all-around shooting guard & LeBron had already developed into a top 3 player in the league. And what Chris Bosh brought to the table was extremely valuable as it perfectly complimented Wade & LeBron’s gamestyle. This big three was responsible for getting the Heat franchise two out of their 3 championships. The first one was with Dwyane Wade & Shaquille O’Neal back in 2006.

Currently the Heat can be considered to be in a good position to contend for the title but I feel that other teams will now be prepared for Jimmy Butler and the Heat the upcoming season. The Heat will need a stronger power forward instead of Jae Crowder and a good backup point guard who can take over after Goran Dragic. Dragic is already 34 and Kendrick Nunn is a good backup but they’ll need a little more depth on the point guard position. Apart from that, let’s see what the next season holds for the eastern conference champions.

Current Superstar – Jimmy Butler.

Past Superstars – Dwyane Wade, Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Bosh.

Past Legends – Eddie Jones, Dwyane Wade, Shaquille O’Neal.
