The SmackDown Tribute to the Troops edition was one of the biggest episodes in recent memory and it was one of the best episodes of the year. This show was stacked with the biggest stars and the wrestling was on another level. SmackDown has been the best show in WWE and Triple H wanted to make Tribute to the Troops as a special SmackDown where superstars from both Raw and SmackDown can appear.

Let’s look at the Results of WWE SmackDown Tribute to the Troops

Santos Escobar beat Dragon Lee

This was the first match of the show and it was for the United States Championship tournament and the winner would advance to the next stage of the tournament. This was between 2 future Lucha superstars of WWE and it was a very good match. Dominik Mysterio was ringside and he helped Santos Escobar win the match and advance. Dragon Lee would win the NXT North American Championship the next night at NXT Deadline.

Randy Orton Pays his fine to Nick Aldis

Next Randy Orton was in the office of Nick Aldis as he was paying the fine for hitting him with an RKO. He paid $100,000 thousand and that was $50,000 advance for the next time he hits him with an RKO.

Cody Rhodes Thanks the Troops

Then it was time for Cody Rhodes to come out and he was cheered by everyone like always and he took the microphone and he thanked the forces and this showed that he had become the company guy after John Cena. Cody Rhodes has taken the top spot in WWE.

CM Punk cuts the Promo of the Year

Those people who had complaints about the promo of CM Punk on Raw are in awe of his SmackDown promo. This was an uninterrupted 10+ minutes promo and it was one of the best of the year. He took shots at everyone starting from Roman Reigns and reminding him he was the OG Paul Heyman guy. Then he talked about Jey and Jimmy Uso, and put over Randy Orton and LA Knight in a big way. He also took shots at Kevin Owens and a subtle jab at AEW. He then went to talk about Royal Rumble and how he would win that match. Finally he talked about Seth Rollins without mentioning his name and at last he said that he would main event WrestleMania.

CM Punk interacts with multiple WWE Superstars

After his promo he was walking backstage and CM Punk thought about knocking on The Bloodline door but then he confronted Kevin Owens who was not happy to see him. He then talked to Cody Rhodes and this was surreal as they both left AEW for WWE. Finally he wished Randy Orton and LA Knight the best of luck in their tag team match

Asuka beat Charlotte Flair

Damage Ctrl is getting used to the idea of being a faction without Bayley and the subtle hints that Triple H is giving is genius. This week it was Asuka vs Charlotte Flair which is an all time classic women’s Match. As usual it was a great match but it looks like Charlotte Flair has injured herself and her knee is hurt and here is hoping that she will be back soon. Asuka won the match with the help of Bayley.

Randy Orton and LA Knight beat Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa

This was the main event of the show and this was an incredible tag team match and it was Randy Orton and LA Knight teaming to take on The Bloodline. LA Knight took the beating for most of the match and then he tagged Randy Orton who went on a rampage and he won the match by hitting an RKO. This was the close of one of the most newsworthy and best episodes of SmackDown.
