The Raw after WrestleMania 40 felt like the first true Raw after Mania since the COVID pandemic. For the last 3–4 years, it has not had the same feeling. This year at the Wells Fargo Center, there were more than 20,000 fans who were loud. This broke the record for the largest gate in the history of Raw, breaking the previous record, which was set a week ago. There were great segments as well as some awesome matches. The WWE Draft was announced, and it will be held on April 26th on SmackDown and April 29th on Raw.
Let’s look at the results of Raw after WrestleMania 40
Cody Rhodes and The Rock go for a war of words
Triple H kicked off the Raw after WrestleMania 40, and it is a new era in
WWE. Triple H touted the greatest WrestleMania of all time. He said that WWE
has broken the all-time gate record for WWE Raw. He then brought out the face
of WWE, Cody Rhodes, and he was given a welcome befitting a champion. Cody
Rhodes was emotional, and he thanked Roman Reigns for such a historic reign.
Cody Rhodes will look to carry forward the legacy. The fans were chanting for
him, and then The Rock appeared as The Final Boss. He then congratulated Cody
Rhodes, and then they exchanged titles. The Rock was booed by the fans, and in
the end, he gave something to Cody Rhodes, and he left WWE for a while to
fulfil his Hollywood commitments.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Ilja Dragunov
After this long segment, it was time for the first match, and it would be
Shinsuke Nakamura against Ilja Dragunov, whose appearance shocked the crowd.
They went loud for him, and he had a great match against Shinsuke. It was a
showing of Ilja Dragunov in front of the biggest TV audience. He picked up the
big win, and he will be a part of the WWE draft.
The Judgement Day appears
The most dominant faction in WWE got even better as Damian Priest became the
World Heavyweight Champion. Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonough cut
a promo and were booed, and then they brought out Rhea Ripley, who got cheered,
and finally Damian Priest came out as the World Heavyweight Champion, and he
got a "You Deserve It" chant. He said that Judgement Day will be more
dominant in the future. They were posing, and R Truth interrupted them, and
this set up a six-man tag team match.
The Judgement Day vs Mix, R Truth and John Cena
Next was the six-man tag team match, and it was a hoot, and the five men in
the ring were giving it their all. The Judgement Day were dominating, and then
John Cena came as a big surprise, and he helped Miz and R Truth beat The
Judgement Day. It was a great Raw after WrestleMania moment. The 20,000 fans
had a great time.
Indi Hartwell vs Roxanne Perez
It was time for the next big surprise of the night, as it was Indi Hartwell
who was standing in the ring, and then Roxanne Perez appeared as the surprise
opponent. It was the first appearance by Roxanne Perez on the main roster. She
was ready for the spotlight, and she got the win, and now it will be
interesting to see if she changes brands in the draft as she has recently won
the NXT Women’s Championship.
Sami Zayn vs Chad Gable next week
It was Sami Zayn and Chad Gable vs Imperium this week on Raw, but that was
not an important part of this whole segment. The match was great, and Sami Zayn
and Chad Gable picked up the win. However, a little later, Sami Zayn challenged
Chad Gable for a match for the Intercontinental Championship on Raw next week
in Montreal, Canada. This will be absolutely sensational.
Jey Uso become the number 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship
It was time for the main event, and it was a fatal Four-Way match between Drew McIntyre, Jey Uso, Ricochet, and Bronson Reed. It was easily the best match on the show, as they got 30 minutes to have a banger. All four men showed why they were given that spot. The match had everything, as it was no DQ. At the end of the match, it looked like Drew McIntyre had the win, but CM Punk again cost Drew the match, and Jey Uso won the match. He will challenge Damian Priest.
