WWE Day 1 was the latest Premium Live Event in WWE which took place on the 1st of January,2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. It was a great show from top to bottom in spite of the fact that just hours before the show news came out that Roman Reigns has tested positive for Covid 19 and he won’t be able to compete in the show and as a result Brock Lesnar was added to the WWE championship match thus making it a Fatal Five Way.
There were a total of 6 matches on the main show and neither match was bad but some of the matches were great and we even got a surprise return and a shock title change that will alter the course on the Road to WrestleMania. Let’s look at the various match results in the show.
The Usos defeats New Day
These two teams can just sleep and have a great match and this was then going all out and giving it everything to entertain the fans so it had to be an instant classic. The crowd in Atlanta was hot from the beginning of the match and both teams fed off the energy of the crowd. They performed all of their moves and it still wasn’t enough to beat the other team. They fought for more than 25 minutes and in the end The Usos hit the legendary 3D to win the match and retain the SmackDown Tag Team titles and thus proving that they are the best team in WWE.
Drew McIntyre best Mad Cap Moss
This was a standard match to showcase how dominant Drew is at the moment and to show his wrestling skills once again. It was the perfect opportunity for Mad Cap Moss to show that he can hang with the best of the best in WWE and he didn’t disappoint as he showed himself out, but Drew won the match after a few minutes with a devastating Claymore kick but later in the show Happy Corbin took out Drew by injuring his head and neck.
RkBro defeats Street Profits
This match was for the Raw Tag Team titles and it was two teams which the fans really like and they both respect each other. The Migos came out with RkBro and it was a great back and forth match with counters from each team but in the end it was the team of RkBro that secured the win when Riddle scooped Montez Ford and Randy Orton hit a wonderful RKO for the win in this match.
Edge defeats Miz
This was a match between two legends of WWE, one who is a hall of Famer and the other one will be a future hall of Famer so it was a clinic from two veterans of the game. Edge had an awesome entrance of The Brood combining with You think you know me and the match was slow to start but gradually the pace of the match increased but Maryse kept getting involved and in the closing moments of the match Beth Phoenix returned to a huge ovation and she helped edge beat miz and it looks like these two couples are headed for a mixed tag match.

Becky Lynch defeats Liv Morgan
It was the biggest match in the young career of Liv Morgan as she was challenging for the Raw Women’s championship vs Becky Lynch. This match was a barn burner as both these incredible ladies gave it their all and showed why they are two of the best in the ring and the story of the match was incredible as well. Liv used all her energy and big moves whereas Becky used all her experience and in the end Becky hit the manhandle slam to win the match and it was heartbreaking for Liv Morgan and all her fans but she gave a star-making performance and the future is bright for her.
Brock Lesnar defeats Big E , Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley
This match was supposed to be a fatal Four way and just hours before the show Brock Lesnar was added to the match because of Roman Reigns testing Covid positive. It was the best out of a bad situation as the fans were getting to see Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley face off for the first time and the match did not disappoint as it was big meaty men slapping meat, Brock got out of the gates quickly but everyone else neutralized him and then it was a great match where tables broke and all but Brock Lesnar rose from the ashes and hit multiple F5’s to his opponents and in the end he pinned Big E to win the WWE championship for the 6th time in his illustrious career and the fans love him now so nobody was unhappy.
