Undertaker vs Mick Foley Rivalry and Top 5 Matches

Undertaker has had many iconic rivalries with many top and legendary Superstars and one of the best and most brutal of them all was his rivalry with Mick Foley. They were two Superstars who were afraid of nothing or no one and this is what made this feud special.  They had a long and storied rivalry which started the night after WrestleMania 12 when Undertaker was on top and on Raw a weird creature attacked Undertaker brutally on Raw and continued to do so for the next number of weeks and that was Mankind. Mankind cost the Undertaker the Intercontinental Championship at In Your House 1996 and thus this feud started.

They had a lot of insane Matches which we will talk about below but I just want to say Thank You to these two legendary superstars for giving it everything and entertaining us fans for so many years. They had the rivalry till 1998 but in those 3 years it became the most important Feud In WWE and it raised the stature of Mick Foley to an all time legend. Now let’s look at the Top 5 Matches of this storied rivalry.

Hell in a Cell Match – King of The Ring 1998

There is no doubt as to which is the best match of this rivalry as this match is one of the most famous and talked about matches in WWE History. It was Undertaker and Mankind inside Hell in a Cell and they both went out there and literally died for the fans so much so that when a certain moment happened everyone thought Mankind was done. This match had moments that will live forever in eternity long after all of us are gone. The sheer brutality for over 20 minutes and Jim Ross with that call when Mick Foley got thrown from the top of the cell is still fresh in all our minds.

King of The Ring 1996

This was the first big match between the two and it was a great match, they had great in ring chemistry and for the first time a new monster was not just fed to the Undertaker for him to bear but Mankind actually went toe to toe with Undertaker and he beat him to the shock of everyone and thus a new star was born in 1996. This was a great 21 minutes wrestling match between Two future Hall of Famers at that time.

In Your House: Buried Alive 1996

This was the first buried alive match to happen in WWE and these two went out there and put this stipulation over in a match that was all sorts of brutal and they used everything they could to beat the other. It was truly buried alive as for 22 minutes they beat the hell out of each other and in the end , it was Undertaker who won the match but after the Undertaker was buried alive by Mankind and Executioner who debuted that night.

SummerSlam 1996 – Boiler Room Brawl

This was another first of its kind match in WWE and it was again these Two that went out there and absolutely beat each other to a pulp in the room and the way to win was to escape the room and they entertained the SummerSlam crowd for 18 minutes and in the end it was Paul Bearer who turned his back on The Undertaker and have the urn to Mankind who won the match.

In Your House: Revenge of Taker 1997

The last match that we will be talking about as can be seen from the title is the revenge match The Undertaker had with Mick Foley after WrestleMania 13 and it was against Mick Foley and The Undertaker and Mick Foley once again showed why they are two of the best aa they had a different match than all the previous matches as this one was personal to The Undertaker who beat Mick Foley in 22 minutes and burned the face of Paul Bearer for betraying him last year.
