With the way I am writing these articles it must be looking like I am the biggest Triple H fan there but it is not only just me that is feeling this way because majority of fans have wanted changes in the WWE product and now finally they are getting some important changes in the Stories told, new matches being made and most recently Triple H made Survivor Series which has been going on for 35+ years feel important and a part of the Big 4 again. We will talk about it in detail below.
Before we talk about the changes to Survivor Series another important change happened on Raw this morning as Seth Rollins vs Matt Riddle would be settled inside a fight pit at Extreme Rules and this was the perfect match to do it as it was the most personal feud. This makes the fight feel legit. Now let’s talk about the changes made to Survivor Series.
Raw vs SmackDown did not work
We will talk about the changes a little later but first we have to talk about the previous format that was used till last year and it was Raw vs SmackDown where there was nothing on the line and the wrestlers used to pretend they care for the brand just one month after being drafted to that brand. And if you wanted to do Raw vs SmackDown then put some stakes on the match where the winning team gets an advantage of some sort and they can use it later. Having brand vs brand was only good for Champion vs Champion matches where we got a lot of dream Matches.
WarGames comes to Survivor Series
Now we will talk about the massive change that Triple H is bringing to Survivor Series this year. It was announced yesterday that Triple H is bringing the WarGames concept for this PPV starting this year and it will most likely be 5 on 5. This was so needed and makes this PPV feel much more important again and the fans have started speculating as to who will be in this match. The only sad part is there will be no William Regal tk announce WarGames.
Storylines over everything
One of the major reasons for this change was Triple H wanted to bring more storyline driven Matches to Survivor Series where the fans could care about the matches and be invested in the product more so Raw vs SmackDown was not doing that and by doing WarGames WWE can have 2 amazing Matches inside 2 cages ae well as pay off stories. This is a much needed change where stories are given more importance.
I am now really looking forward to Survivor Series this year and the TD Garden in Boston is already sold out so the fans sitting there will have a blast. And now more fans want to go to see Survivor Series in person.
