WWE gives us some of the best matches in wrestling and has been doing so for more than half a century with each generation giving us matches that are great but also long matches that let the audience seek their teeth into the match and cheer for their favorite. A long match allows the wrestlers to showcase more of their skills and athleticism and tell a better story.

1. 7 Man Gauntlet Match : 

This match happened on the February 19th, 2018 episode of Raw. This match was different from all the matches that WWE had done in a long time. The duration of this match was a staggering 101 minutes. In this match 7 of the best in WWE faced off with the winner entering the elimination chamber last. Seth Rollins had a breakout performance in this match and he eliminated both Roman Reigns and John Cena and lasted 65 minutes in the match and this match was eventually won by Braun Strowman.


2. Bruno Sammartino vs Waldo Von Erich: 

This match took place at the World’s most famous arena Madison square garden in the year 1964. It was Bruno Sammartino ‘s home turf during that time and he sold out MSG so many times and that’s why he is regarded as the Greatest Champion in WWE History. Time draws were not uncommon during that time usually there being 60 minute time draws involving Ric Flair, but a time draw at 81 minutes was very uncommon and the only reason it was stopped because it was time for the curfew at the venue

or else nobody knows how long the match would have gone for . This shows how incredibly well conditioned both these wrestlers were at that time.

3. Pedro Morales vs Bruno Sammartino: 

One more match featuring Bruno Sammartino in the longest matches list shows how fit and amazing he was . This time it was against Pedro Morales at Showdown at Shea in 1972 and it went on for 75 minutes. Bruno Sammartino tried to capture the WWWF Championship but due to a time draw because of curfew Pedro Morales kept it for another year. Truly incredible athletes this year.


4. Bruno Sammartino vs Gorilla Monsoon: 

Bruno Sammartino and longest matches , A love story greater than Twilight. This man doesn’t stop at all and this time it was against Gorilla Monsoon at his arena the MSG in 1964 and it Went on for 70 minutes and it was stopped because of the curfew at the venue like before as well . Both men were icons during that time and at their peak making this match a must watch for all WWE fans. Bruno Sammartino was a living legend and Gorilla Monsoon went on to become one of the greatest commentators of all time.


5. Tag Team Turmoil Match: 

This match took place in the year 2015 before the Fastlane match between Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. They took on 6 teams back to back in a tag team Turmoil Match . First they beat The Miz and Damien Mizdow with Bryan hitting the running knee

for the win. Then they faced the Usos and again Bryan applied the YES lock for the submission win , then came the turn of Los Matadores and yet again Daniel put the Yes lock for the win. Then Roman Reigns finished Slator Gator with a quick spear then they beat the Ascension via Disqualification and lastly they beat the giants Big show and Kane with Bryan tapping out Big show to the Yes Lock. This match took days before Fastlane and it showed how well conditioned Roman and Bryan are.
